    I have a sneaky suspicion we may line-up similar to the Arbroath friendly, given the players were all on for 90 minutes. That said, I suspect some of the players who didn't travel due to injury or some other reason may start instead.

    I am hopeful we can sneak something, should Ogleby finish his chances. We are definite dark horses this season for the playoffs, while I don't expect us to actually make them.

    Not going to make it to this one, not too bothered though as it's a team we'll play another 4 times (still with the very slim chance of playing them another 5 times).

    With our bad record in cups I'm not too optimistic for this one. 2-1 Queens.

    Can I just say how much I hate Queen of the South and would bloody love us to get a result down there. Russell going to them left me empty inside...

    On the prediction league front, 1 point for correct result, 3 for the correct score? People can just post in the match thread and I'll start a sticky thread to post a league table after this game.

    I'd be up for the prediction league too. Not a massive fan of QOS, but they ain't as bad as bin-dipping Raif. Russell going to QOS was such a heart breaker.

    Good news bad news, Keaghan is meant to be playing in the final friendlies, so should be ready to get back playing after picking up an injury at the end of last season.

    Bad news is Talbot is suspended for our first two games, he'll miss the QoS and Albion Rovers games.

    With Talbot suspended (unless we play three centre backs), that'll mean either Rutherford or Fordyce will step in. Not too comfortable with Fordyce playing there and we've heard good things about Rutherford.

    We're not the favourites and it isn't the biggest competition we'll be competing in, so what's to lose other than giving a well regarded young player a chance?

    Totally agree, Cub. Fordyce is not a full back but I've no doubt McGlynn will play them there and we'll get ripped down our left. Rutherford needs game time.

    Rutherford was watching the game tonight, hope he plays a bit. Feel Moffat deserves a chance, but he played full game.

    McGlynn said in his article that anyone who played against Dalkeith wouldn't be considered against QOTS, so that most rule Moffat out. If Rutherford was only a spectator last night then he must be an option for Saturday. Fortunately seemed to have steered clear of Antell.

    Donaldson is still getting treatment as an out patient so no chance he'll be back yet.

    McGlynn revealed he is edging closer to finding his preferred starting XI when the Championship gets under way in two weeks against Hibs at Easter Road, but he disclosed former Hibs defender Brad Donaldson has been suffering from septicaemia since the Dunfermline match on July 12.

    “I’m very pleased with how the new guys have come in and performed,” he said, “but I’m disappointed for Brad as he was in hospital for a week and is still going in for intravenous drips, so that has been a setback. I’m gutted for the boy.

    “He’s getting over it though and we won’t rush him back too early, but he’s a lot better.”

    Looks like it'll be Fordyce and Rutherford as FB's with Donaldson and Talbot unavailable.

    Fordyce at right-back I have less of a problem with than at left-back.

    Fordyce Gallagher Sives Rutherford

    Not a dreadful defence but O'Brien and Kyle Jacobs will have to work hard in the centre of the park to protect, if we're going with 4 at the back.


    On Donaldson, the record's article makes his illness seem a lot more serious than the Scotsman one.

    I see you're actually allowed 7 subs in this now. I think that would mean our entire first-team squad apart from the young ones Taylor, Moffat and Currie should be in the matchday squad.

    Looks like Queens have weathered Livi's early pressure and are now pressing us for a 2nd goal. Ogleby has had a few shots on goal, but no joy scoring. Disapponting to see us lose a goal from a corner, was hoping we'd defend them better with us having decent height in the defence.
