Hippo is too young to be my love child bud.... Had the "bricks" before he was born
Totally agree that we are better with 2 up front, also agree that Buchanan and White did reasonably well in helping to stifle Falkirk. To be honest I probably prefer Sheerin as the lone man up top if we are playing that way but he is less mobile than the others. But the bottom line is formations don't win games, players do (to quote a sign on Sky's Fantasy Football show).
However, I simply fail to see how you can suggest that Mullen did any kind of job. He barely moved the whole time he was on...giving rise to the "freezing" comment I mentioned earlier. And I agree that Hippo can look/be lazy but he wasn't yesterday.
Maybe the game plan was to let Falkirk have the ball in their own half and defend heavily in our half, in which case the game passed Mullen by but I wanted to see him pressurising the ball carrier and defend from the front, which he most certainly did not do. He could and should have left Kerr for dead at the half way line when we had a breakaway but instead turned towards him and got him booked instead.
But hey, football debate is all about opinions, even when you're wrong
