Falkirk v Livi Empty Falkirk v Livi

Post by Liviforever Mon Mar 21, 2016 8:57 pm

We haven't done well at TFS since Hughes (spit) was here, but for some reason I've got this wee voice in my head telling me we're going to cause a shock here and get something from this game. I should prob get it seen to before it gets louder and I have to go into a padded cell with a straitjacket as a fashion accessory.

Anyhoo i'm going to go with this mad as a hatter voice and put down a 2-2 draw or even a 2-1 Livi win, hmm what to go for, what the heck I may as well get hung for a sheep than a lamb, 2-1 Livi, fg 12 mins.

PS. I may retract this prediction minutes before the game starts if Cole is on the starting line up.

I think you should change your pseudonym to Optimist Prime jocolor

One things for sure it will take an amazing transformation in form from Falkirk for us to make a significant impact in this game.

If Cole is dropped then I suspect Fal 2 Liv 0 fg 28 mins

If Cole plays then it will be Fal 4 Liv 1 fg 13 mins

I would drop Buchanan or White and bring in Pittman. An organised and well coached team like Falkirk expose us too easily as they have done for some years when we open up too much in the midfield.

Whether Hopkin does this or not, I can see us actually getting a result: 2-2, FG 7 mins and Ben Gordon to get sent off for trying to rugby tackle Hippolyte.

Hippo loves a theatrical roll about on the ground, isn't averse to tripping players with clumsy tackles though so maybe we'll get a penalty.

Buchanan is always good for an out ball, as well as chasing down defenders forcing them into quick passes, but tbh I thought both played their part in us having a decent attack. Once the ball is played up to a more mobile Buchanan, White gets into great positions for him to pass the ball to. Just need to tell Buchanan to pass the bloody thing to him. White is quite unselfish though and iirc was instrumental in Buchanan's goal in the last game.

I hope Longridge is playing, I like Kakay more as a LM or RM and Longridge & Halkett as the 2 FB's.

If Cole is dropped and Longridge is back in the team then I'd fancy us to get a draw, given how unexpected it is for us to get anything. Can see Hippolyte coming back and scoring one at least, given how awful our luck is.

    3-0 Falkirk, FG 4 minutes.

Assuming Longridge will be back from suspension for this, and hopefully Cole is dropped for Neill.

    McCallum

    Longridge
    Gordon
    Neill
    Halkett

    Stanton
    Fotheringham
    Telfer
    Kakay

    White
    Buchanan

Either that, or Pittman in the middle with Fozzy, and Telfer between the midfield and one of White or Bucks.

Either way I'm still a pessimist after the last couple years; 2-0 Falkirk. FG 18 mins.

That's it then, we're fecked in this game, Hopkin is backing Cole to comeback from his poor performance. FFS Hoppy it isn't just a poor performance in the St Mirren game, he's been rank all season.
    http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/livingston-boss-david-hopkin-up-7626240#UfKlI1s8x1GiulgL.97

He says we lost after playing well enough to win and identifies where the problem was in a penalty and two wonder goals, yeah the pen was Cole's fault and so was one of the 'wonder goals', even the 2nd 'wonder goals was because we didn't get tight to Shankland to stop him getting another shot off. If he knows where the weakness in our team was *Cole*, why not just remove that weakness.

Where is the sense in publicly backing him to come good when it is blatantly obv Cole isn't willing to change his attitude and will continue to get into trouble and give away goals!!!!

Our strikers get dropped every time they don't score a goal in a game, DJ was dropped for making mistakes in goal, so I really don't understand why Cole isn't being dropped when he continues to gift goals and cost us points. Really can't see us getting 8th if Hopkin keeps playing Cole, we're playing with a handicap of Cole giving the other team at least one goal a game.

We’re playing well at the minute and I thought the result on Saturday didn’t really reflect the game and the performance.

“I’d have been upset with a draw to be perfectly honest because I thought we were the better side. We got done by two terrific goals and a penalty.

“I’d rather have taken the three points and played worse, but there are positives to take from that game into Falkirk.

“We’re creating chances and playing good football but we know we need to be at the top of our game on Saturday to get something against a very good Falkirk side.”

And the boss backed defender Darren Cole to bounce back from his poor display against St Mirren.

Sorry but the result did reflect the performance, it's a team game and Cole was part of that team and his performance reflected on the result. Keep playing him and you get what you deserve.

He's been a bombscare in most games this season. Competition for places keeps players on their toes but why should he give a toss if he's guaranteed a start every week.

Did I not say that Hoppy would back him? You know I think I did.

Both diddies & Hopkin for me has still not shown he is managerial material...kudos for some of the guys he has brought in but did he spot them or was it someone else? And if it was him then it doesn't necessarily follow that he cuts it as a manager; just as a scout,

Think it will be scandalous if Cole starts tommorow. Its gonna be tough enough against a very good Falkirk side that will be brimming with confidence after their recent endevours. But there again nothing about Hoppy,s decisions and selections surprises me and i think even he knows he has a mountain to climb between now and the end of the season. However would bite your hand of for a point tommorow.alas i fear possible damage limitation will probably be the order of the day.Still we can but dream.Do it Livi!! .

Falkirk fan saying they dived for their pen and got Longridge sent off, feckers had already been booked for diving in the box too.

Belter of a result though, the great escape 2 is on.bounce bounce

Jordan White is in good form. Does Smithy still post here?

    Fine lines eh.

Doubt any Livi fan wouldn't have been happy with a draw if you'd asked them pre match, but chucking away 2 points to 2 injury time goals would've been a right punch in the guts, thank feck we saved the penalty.

Funnily enough I was asking last week if McCallum had ever saved a penalty for us when St Mirren scored with theirs, well I know he def has now. Very Happy

Just slag White off and Smithy will be on like a shot, I swear he's got a White's being slagged alert to his phone. Laughing

This is the kind of form I was wanting from him last season, imo he was too sporadic with 2 or 3 goals in one game then nothing for the next 16, scoring a goal a game 3 games running (and 4 goals in our last 5 games) is cracking form.

Well chuffed for Shagz getting a goal against Falkirk after the stick he takes from them. It's clear that someone will get the message to him that most Livi fans are right behind him, top quality player.

Brilliant performance and one to get my enthusiasm for the team back after a lot of disappointments.

Next week is huge, we cannot fuck up after such a big win. Alloa will be going for the win as they have nothing to lose and will be officially down if they don't, so we must be wary of them and get behind the team.
