So last league match of the season with hopefully four more games to come.

As good as we were defensively and hitting on the break on Tuesday I'd like to see us get stuck right in and get after this lot. I think they have over achieved this season.

That said, we will probably return to the old failing of dropping our level of performance.

No injuries and no suspensions please.

It makes me wonder what we would have done if we'd actually won on Saturday; that would have still left us two points behind Dumbarton with a hugely superior goal difference.

Would you have thrown all caution to the wind hoping that Dumbarton could only lose or draw against Alloa; perhaps damaging your chances in the play-off's or would you play safe?

Hoping we rest up players like White and Stanton and give the fringe players a run out. Not bothered about the score so will go for a Raith win and see if Livi win again.

Hopefully Hopkin sees sense to give game time to those who are more than unlikely to start on Wednesday i.e. Mullin, Mullen, Currie, Knox, Sheerin. Telfer, Stanton, Shagz and Pittman need to be rested.

Raith will have players rested too so it could be an entertaining game or absolutely guff.

    2-2. FG 27 mins.

Two points which i feel are relevant towards this game.1.Yes it would be nice to keep the momentum going heading into the playoffs, but surely common sense should kick in here. Its so bloody obvious that we should be resting or should i say protecting our best players from what is afterall a completely meanigless game. Can you imagine the reaction if one of them got a serious injury or a silly booking?.2.Whilst i appreciate the paying public will probably expect us to be as competetive as we possibly can,Im sure even they would understand due to the seriousness of the games coming up.Reckon the games got draw writen all over it,wonder what price the bookies would give you .maybe worth a shilling or two.Any ways roll on Sunday and to hopefully a good day out ,god knows were due one.

    Jamieson

    Longridge
    Neill
    Cole
    Kakay

    Currie
    Fotheringham

    Mullen
    Knox
    Mullin

    Sheerin

Resting McCallum, Halkett, Gordon (hoping he's fit for Wednesday), Pittman, Stanton, Telfer, White and Buchanan. Raith will be resting players too which will give us a shit game, as long as we can avoid suspensions and injuries I don't care if we lose this shitfest.

Good selection LL but i'd also rest Longridge if we could, he's really important getting down that left wing. When he was out against Raith in the away game against them we were one sided over on the right, and he was also out against Alloa in the draw and I felt we really missed him.

So here we are, last league game of the season. Last season this fixture was make or break for us. Now it's irrelevant. A nothing game but I'll go along and support the team and hope that back to back wins boosts the confidence for the play offs

Better with a draw, we never win 3 in a row.

Can draw the game on Wed and win the 2nd leg at the Tony Mac Arena.

Yep, but I'd rather win the away leg allowing the luxury of being able to draw at home.

Can see Raith resting a few of their first teamers for the upcoming game on Wednesday... I think we'll do likewise.

Can't read too much into that seeing as the team on Wednesday will be very different.

Hope Halkett's head knock wasn't too serious and he's fine to play in the play offs.

Good to see Longridge being rested along with Stanton, would have thought Halkett would've been spared today too and have had Cole in from the start.

Saw a Stranraer scout taking notes, don't think he'd have learned anything from that game, only about 2 players starting today would be in from the start on Wed.

It was pretty dire stuff, yet we probably had the 2 best chances in the first half.

As much as Wednesday provided hope that we have enough to survive, today was the opposite.

Hopefully it is the Livi that turns up against the harder teams rather than the one that struggles to match the "lesser" sides that we get in the next 2 and hopefully 4 games

Come on Bertie, you can't seriously take anything from that game, Only Halkett and Telfer (maybe Kakay or Mullin depending on injuries to CB's) would start from that line up, giving Buchanan & White a wee run out for a spell in the 2nd half doesn't count for much either with the team we had out.

I'm not. What I am saying is that we really can't read too much into either game. The reason I say this is simple...we gave played ok against the better sides regularly this season and been rank against the dross. So beating the Huns last week is relatively irrelevant. It SHOULD give us confidence but we have seen it all before.

Also...I guarantee that had we won today there would have been a number of posters saying we were going into the play offs on a high.

What today showed is that most of our benchwarmers aren't up to it yet. I honestly think Sheerin would have come good if he had been given a run in the side, instead he seems to have gained some weight back sitting on the bench since Hoppy took over. Knox is still too lightweight and doesn't think he has team mates unless he is delivering a set piece, Currie has promise but has been given so little time on the pitch he hasn't been able to develop. Mullen starts games promisingly but one heavy tackle and he loses interest. Mullin has a good delivery and reads the game quite well. Fozzy could be good at this level but needs other players around him also capable of playing at this level.

Not the greatest performance but then not a match to be excited about.

That being said it really looks like Mullen has got a real strop about his position; petulant bad tempered display with a couldn't-care-less attitude.

Cant see any point in keeping him come the summer; was meant to be a replacement for McNulty and looked promising at the start but since his injury he hasnt been the same player.

Sherrin tried to cover for him as best he can but the guy just doesn't have the pace.

Yeah Mullen was looking for a booking to get sent off the way he constantly went off on a strop mouthing at the ref. He's my most disappointing player as I expected better things from him this season, really thought he'd step up and do well. White is a good example of being mucked around and just getting on with it, tries his best wherever he's put, being put in midfield or dropped to the subs bench, shows great attitude. Mullen could learn a lot from White.

You've finally come over to the dark side LF; Mullen has been stagnating for a season & a half. Needs a rocket up his backside & an attitude check. We spell on loan to Alloa if we stay up or Berwick if we go down would do him the world of good

I'd echo Liviforever's view that Mullen has been the most disappointing player - I remember just around the time McNulty left he was a young man full of fire and combative spirit chasing the ball even when it looked like a lost cause and beating defenders time and again; so much so that people forgot that he was only a teenager

He's now 21 and really seems to have gone backwards; whether he has lost his love for the game or whatever I don't know but his attitude is all wrong. Really cant see him being kept on now.
