Cracking game tonight, Falkirk winning 3-2 in injury time, cracking goal for their equaliser too. I fancy Falkirk to go up now.

Hilarious... Wish I'd seen it. Hibs fans will be in meltdown, 3 seasons out of the top flight. They should be favourites for next season's title now though

Re: SPFL Premiership Play Offs
Another late show by Falkirk to win 1-0 in the first leg against Killie. Dire game but Falkirk got the win, they'll need to play a lot better in the 2nd leg though.
Hippo could be playing in the Premiership next season, 2 leagues above us, great move for him. Don't know how long he'll last though, unless he works very hard on his game he'll struggle to ever get a start for Falkirk.

Re: SPFL Premiership Play Offs
Not looking good for Falkirk, Killie up 2-0, 2-1 agg.
Their defence has been shaky and they're offering nothing up front with high balls lumped into the box all the time. Baird is a short arse need to get it to his feet.
Falkirk finish strongly but they better get the finger out or the game will be out of reach by then. I think Hippo would give them something in attack down the wing but he wont come on till about 20 min to go.

4-0 Killie, 4-1 agg/
Not to be for Falkirk, they never recovered from their bad start and killie just hit them on the counter in the 2nd half.

Re: SPFL Premiership Play Offs
As with last season the team in 11th place in the top tier was too strong for the second tier side.
The only team to go up since the reintroduction was Hamilton when Hibs "hibsed" it against them.
However, I don't think Hibs would have had the cup success this season if they had still be in the top flight.

Re: SPFL Premiership Play Offs
The season Accies went up was a false position for the 2nd bottom team, Hibs were actually the worst team in the league and only finished 2nd bottom because Hearts got a points deduction. The way the play offs are set up favouring the Premiership team doesn't help much either though. Should be 2 down, one automatically up and the play off between the Championship teams only for the other place.

Re: SPFL Premiership Play Offs
Don't think it's heavily in favour of the Prem team tbh. It's harder for the 3rd/4th team though but I think it's pretty debatable how you can finish 4th in a 10 team league and have a chance of going up.
Before the first leg, Falkirk and Killie both played the same amount of games (38) and both had about the same amount of time between games (Falkirk playing on the Friday; Killie playing on the Saturday). So don't think the tiredness claim that some throw around is really that valid, all about who's better over the two legs.

Re: SPFL Premiership Play Offs
Yeah but Killie rested players in their last Premiership game because it was a meaningless game, they would hardly have been going right at it getting pumped 4-2 off Utd, whereas Falkirk had to play 2 competitive games against Hibs to get to the final, that favours the Premiership club. The fans couldn't even be arsed with the Utd game, only 2,702 turned up compared to 11,013 against Falkirk.

Re: SPFL Premiership Play Offs
Tend to agree with you LF.... Undoubtedly about Accies V Hibs, Hibs going down that season was justice done for their abject league season. I suspect if Accies had played Hearts that year then Hearts would have stayed up.... That said, in the long term it probably did Hearts good to go down, they were able to regroup, clear out the deadwood and build a decent young side that simply strolled to the second tier title.
LL makes a good case for his point but I'm more inclined to agree with you on the favouring of the top tier side. IMO it should be a straight 2 up 2 down but play-offs are revenue generators and do bring drama. Also, if the teams that qualify are close in terms of seasonal points then the additional games just make sure the better of the two sides competing goes thru to the next round or wins promotion.
