I tend to agree with you though, in ice hockey the last player on the scoring team to touch the puck is credited with the goal... This can in theory lead to a very strange situation where a goalie makes a save, the puck is collected by the attacking side, one of the defending players gets a delayed "penalty" against him, play continues and the attacking team pulls their goalie off for an extra attacker because as soon as one of the penalised team touches the puck the whistle will blow, but the attacking team make a mess of it and knock it into their own net. The goalie who made the save would be credited with the goal. But as this type of thing wouldn't happen in football we could easily adopt it so that the last player on the scoring team to touch it is given the goal.
I also hate the way they award og's to goalies. If he palms a corner into the net or if it hits the woodwork and rebounds in off the keeper... Might as well award an og every time he gets a touch on the ball, after all his intention was to keep it out and he only helped knock it in.
Anyway, never mind. Still good to see the goals are being shared around.
