East Fife v Livi Empty East Fife v Livi

Not quite sure how this game will go, East Fife are another team scraping out results in recent game and wont be easy to beat, esp at Bayview. We struggled to cope with their style of play and the windy conditions, it looks like we'll have much the same conditions for this game, so we'd better handle balls hit straight into our box from all angles a lot better than last time.

I understand Hopkin going out against QP with 3 at the back to give us Cadden and Mullin down the wings to get in behind them, and it worked in the first half, but I feel we've done better having 4 at the back and EF are a team that will exploit the space on the wing if we don't have 2 FB's playing. So hopefully he starts Longridge along with Halkett and stays 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 all game, and goes back to being patient with that formation.

    .............................Kelly

    Halkett.......Crighton ........Lithgow.........Longridge

    Cadden..........Byrne........Pittman..........De Vita

     .............Mullen........Carrick

Bringing Buchanan and Mullin on 2nd half as impact subs.

We've won our last 8 away games so lets keep that going and make it 9.

3-1 Livi, fg 16 mins. Mon the Livi Lions. bounce

Aye, but if I went for the draw & we lost I'd be kicking myself for that... So if we don't lose I'll at least have that consolation bounce

I see EF have signed a young LB from Partick Th on loan and he'll be playing against us in this game. Thistle fans rate him highly, saying he puts in a great delivery from the wing, and takes a good corner kick.

They got Insall and their keeper in on loan the last time we played them at Methill and both played out their skins against us. Just couldn't have waited a week for this loan signing could they. Rolling Eyes

Barry Smith is a very decent manager at this level, and it'll be another tough game. Forecast to be pretty windy much like our last visit to Methill. Hopefully we don't defend like last time, and with that in mind...

Well the wind is certainly getting up which can only mean a trip to Methil beckons.Hopefully the guys can recapture the momentum that has opened up that wee gap recently despite some nearvy displays.I reckon that if we score first weve got to go for that killer second to deflate the opposition and see out the game in relative comfort.Yes it wont be easy especailly with that wind but surely we will have learned from the last visit here whwen nothing went right for us that day.Lets finnish the year on a high Livi.Do it!!!..PS wrong thread i know but wont comment on the Declan scenario until its been confirmed.End off.

Interesting starting line up, no real wingers and no sign at all of Cadden, presumably injured or suspended? But an attacking line up nonetheless with 3 strikers and De Vita starting.

2-1 East Fife, just like last week we've blown a HT lead.

Two goal keeping blunders by the looks of it, Kelly kicks a clearance off Robinson into our net, and fumbles a long range shot to Insall for the first.

He was dodgy against them the last time at Methill too, was on loan to them last season and it looks like he's helping them out when we play them there.Shocked Laughing

Need to get our fingers out here and salvage something from this game and hope Airdrie drop points to Rovers tomorrow.

Fecksake what is going on with Kelly here, fumbles a ball for a corner and then gets booked for handling the ball outside the box, he's having a mare.

Makes amends for that one by tipping the free kick over the bar, was half expecting to see them going 3-1 up there, mon tae feck Livi get a grip of this game.

Told you it wouldn't be a draw this week

Something is not right. We were finishing games strongly & winning well; we were making good use of subs... And now we have thrown away half time leads to amateurs & semi-pros.

Hoppy got praise during the good results... Now he needs to get this sorted and he needs to do it quickly, because these last two results are simply not good enough.

Totally agree with you Bertie.Scored first in our last two games and preceded to balls it up.Are the players intent of imploding here or what?.Whithout trying to panic somethings not right here and we really have to get this sorted out quickly.Certainly a festive period il be glad to see the back off after the genorosity weve gifted to these teams.Massive rocket up the arse for them definatly required to get us back on the rails. Those behind us must be rubbing their preverbial hands together. For fecks sake Livi get a grip and do what has to be done!!!

I know it is hard to think clearly after losing a game but we're going to be at least 4 points clear at the top and maybe even still sitting 7 clear depending on how Rovers do against Airdrie.

Livi just built us up with those 4 wins in a row getting 10 points clear just so they could knock us down again with back to back defeats, bassas that they are. Really need to win at Peterheid next week though or it is back to being dragged into a scrap with the other top 4 teams.

All eyes on the Airdrie result tomorrow night and hoping Rovers do us a turn.

Oh and I forgot about Brechin, they're only a point behind Airdrie and are playing Peterheid tomorrow so could close to 5 points behind us.

Very poor second half like the Queens Park game last Saturday: We did very little going forward and switched off at the back for cheap goals. I can understand a manager if they don't want to make changes if they feel a goal is coming but nothing was getting created in that half so I'm lost as to why Hopkin never made any changes to get a reaction.

We shouldn't get too upset considering we'll more than likely be four points clear after Airdrie play just as long as Hopkin addresses the issues that the team has faced in the last couple of weeks. Definitely need someone behind Byrne and Pittman to protect Lithgow and Crighton because we're asking our two CMs to do the work of four CMs.

I know its the festive season but did we have to be so generous to our fellow teams.
Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory and every other cliché you care to think of.
An absolute horror show from Kelly. Dropped the ball in front of their striker for the first and ran a third of the way up the park kamekaze style for their second 3 minutes later. It seemed to be kicked off the line but the lino decided it had crossed over. Couldn't argue cos I was not close enough to see. Less costly after that he dropped another high ball kicked from the half way line out for a corner with not a soul anywhere near him. Then he rounded it off with a handling offence outside the box offence. When it's no yer day it's no yer day.
I'd say, the horrors apart, that we edged it but it was not an impressive display.
As usual the ref saw none of their pulling and pushing but picked up every Livi misdemeanour. Come to expect that now. Cool

Yep we won a watch today with results going our way.

Airdrie are away to QP, and Brechin away to Rovers, both are tough teams to play against and I can see them taking points off Airdrie and Brechin. So we need to get our act together and beat Peterheid and we'll go 9 or 10 points clear.
