Ever since that horror show of a play off game last year Stair Park makes me a bit nervous. I thought oh no when Stranraer scored so early and of course it had to be Morgyn Neill!
We hugged and puffed a bit in the first half looking disjointed at times and Stranraer were well up for it.
The second half we were more like ourselves especially after the substitutes came on.
Robinson put in a decent shift and of course got the goal.
The back three were quite solid. Halkett continues to impress.
We do need to get a proper striker in though especially if Danny leaves
The ref was mean to us as usual.
So, top of a difficult group. Who'd have thought? I hope our league campaign goes as well

    Welcome to Livi Scott Robinson

    Very Kachloul esque of him.

Was that his debut when he pinged that free kick in?

I was thinking very Dale Carrick esque given his impact when he came on against St Midden last season.

Yep and first kick of the ball too.

Aye Carrick scored in his debut too. Could be a cracking season for him, might have a 15+ goal scorer after all.

I knew it was his first kick of the match but has forgotten it was his debut.
Carrick was his 1st touch as well.

Great achievement to top the group never mind just qualifying out of it and with impressive performances in all four games. We've guaranteed ourselves a decent sum for prize money so I would take a winnable tie at this stage and something more 'high profile' in the last eight.

    All the goals: https://vimeo.com/227069589

Good deliveries for our first 2 goals and lovely build up play for our last 2, nicely stuck away too by big Toddy and Robinson. Alexander wasn't far away from getting that penalty either.

Looks a very soft pen to me. They both went for the ball and the one who fell over was awarded a pen. There really didn't appear to be anything in the challenge.

Excellent deliveries on the first two and superb play on the second half goals. Superb finish by Toddy following excellent play by Byrne and a decent cross/pass for the big fella to slot home from a tight angle at the front post & tremendous teamwork to present Robinson with the ball which he stuck away sweetly for the 4th.

Arguably it was only Stranraer but they have given us bother before as we all know & seemed up for it again, esp in the 1st half.

Hopefully the boys can build on this group win when we get into the league campaign

Sorry about the late post guys.Have been away with work the last couple of days.As has already been said not many if any would have had us winning that group and especially the way we did it.Massive kudos to Hoppy and all the lads for a job well done.Toddy,s goal the pick of the bunch for me in what seemed a highly entertaining game from a Livi point of view of course.Special shout out to the hardy bunch of supporters who managed to get down there and hope you all got back safely.Would be nice to get a big team at the Vale in the next round but im not to bothered as imo the upcoming leauge campaigne is more important to us .Having said that the financial reward to the club would be more than usefull and a reward to the team for their efforts so far.Once again well done Livi!!!

Because we have won the group only dropping one point on the way, we are more likely than not to be one of the seeded teams which means we won't get a money spinning game in the next round. The best we can hope for is Hearts being the runner up in the group with Dunfermline and getting them at Tynecastle.

Afraid not, only 4 of the 8 teams finishing top of their groups get seeded, along with the 4 teams from the Premiership that will come into the last 16. There are 6 teams who could finish ahead of us.

    Group A
Falkirk (9 points) would have to lose to Brechin, or lose the penalty shoot out if they draw as they have a far better GD than us.

    Group B
Hearts (7 points) have to beat Dunfermline (9 points) or win the pen shoot out as again Dunfermline have a superior GD to us.

    Group C
Dundee (9 points v Utd (9 points), both have a better GD so one of them will def finish better than us, so that only leaves 3 seeded spots.

    Group D
Ross County (8 points) v Arbroath, need to draw or lose for us to be better than them, their GD is better than ours so a win would put them above us.

    Group E
Ayr (9 points) v Annan, we need them to lose or lose the pen shoot out, again their GD would put them above us.

    Group F
Motherwell (9 points) v Berwick, again we need them to lose or lose the pen shoot out, yep you've guessed it their GD is better than ours.

    Group G
    Albion Rovers (6 points)
Hamilton Accies (6 points) neither of them can finish above us so we don't need to bother about this group.

Odds are against us being one of the 4 seeded team but with a bit of luck we might sneak in as the 4th top team.

It's all doom & gloom from LF but realistically he is correct, despite dropping just 1 point we are almost certainly not going to be seeded... But every cloud has a silver lining, that means we have a decent chance of a plum tie... But knowing our luck we'll get Falkirk or Dunfermline

Looks like you are right Liviforever. I stand corrected. Just need to keep raising our game. Laughing

Just being realistic.................................................................. for a change. Laughing

Our GD is lower than any other team likely to finish on 11 points, the only way we'll get a seeded place is if 3 of those teams lose their final group games (or draw and lose the pen shoot out).

Yep, though we could get Ayr Utd if they're seeded and we're not, or Hearts if we're seeded (they def wont be), so being seeded doesn't necessarily get you an easier game, just have to wait and see what the draw brings.

Motherwell, Ayr and Falkirk all finished on 12 points, and the winner of Dundee v Utd will join them to make up the 4 seeded teams from these group stages.

Livi, Hibs, Dunfermline and Accies are the other group winners.

Partick Th, Kilmarnock, Ross County, and prob the losing team from Dundee v Utd will be the 4 best runners up.

It'll be St Johnstone away. We often draw them in cups.

Aye out of the seeded teams that would be the worst draw we could get, isn't going to bring in much dosh and they could knock us out too, would be just as well getting an away draw against Celtic, The Rangers or even Aberdeen, at least we'd get a good pay day out of it, and you never know, we could maybe even just go and pull off a shock win.
