QoS v Livi Empty QoS v Livi

Post by Liviforever Sun Mar 18, 2018 1:37 pm

Queen's have a midweek game against Utd, so hope that tires them out a bit against us on Sat, fingers crossed they can take something from the Tues game too.
We'll be without Hardie but they may still have Dobbie out injured, so that would certainly help us more, reckon Miller and Robinson up front would get us a goal or two, just don't rate Boyd, and I think Robinson looks a far better goal threat. Both Robinson and Cadden were on the bench against Falkirk, so don't know why Hoppy isn't playing them, they've been two of our best players in recent games.

Is Byrne banned for 1 game or 2? Hopefully just the one so Dec goes back into defence, Buchanan has looked very good playing in defence too right enough but I just don't like seeing Dec in midfield, he did an ok enough job but nowhere near as good as Byrne and is a lot better in defence.

My preferred starting 11 would be:

    ...                                 Alexander

    ..          Gallagher           Halkett                  Lithgow

    .Cadden          Byrne/Keaghan*    Pittman        Rafa      Longridge

    ..                            Miller           Robinson

    * If Byrne is back for this game then a midfield of Cadden-Byrne-Pittman-Keaghan-Rafa would be my choice, leaving McMillan and Longridge to come on as 2nd half subs to see out the game if/when we're in front.

I think two yellows is just a one game ban so hopefully Byrne will be back and Gallagher to where he plays best. How about Rafa partnering Miller up front. I'd also like to see Cadden back in. Hopefully his injury will be properly behind him by then. Mullin has had two starts now and has failed to impress. Boyd is playing for himself. He keeps the ball too long and inevitably loses it. Not a team player.

Queens form lately hasn't been too good so I don't see them taking anything from United. If we can play to our usual away form we should be good enough to win but I think a draw is more likely.

When we previously played QoS they defended in numbers and were particularly difficult to break down.
Think this will be a very tough game.

Like many of the others I really don't see the point in playing Boyd; he's been given a fair chance but hasn't managed anything really. That being said I don't think we'll get much joy from playing the ball in the air against QoS; their central defence are too good.

The chat on P&B is Dobbie will be playing in this game, he hasn't scored against us yet though so perhaps Joe Thomson will be their biggest threat, having just scored 2 against Utd last night.

In any case I still fancy us to win this even without Hardie playing, we've had 18 different goal scorers this season so we aren't dependent on just the one player for goals, even if he has been terrific for us since signing. Just need Hoppy to get Robinson or maybe even Rafa up front with Miller instead of Boyd and i'd be happy enough, hopefully Cadden gets the nod too.

    2-0 Livi, fg 15 mins.

Not feeling it for this one at all. I reckon Queens will be right up for it after winning at Tannadice, especially with them snatching the win after blowing a 2 goal lead.

Morton are playing Brechin & Dunfy are at United... Is it Irn Bru cup final weekend? Saints, Caley, Dumbarton & Falkirk don't seem to have league games.

Anyway, point is Morton are going to win, United will want to bounce back & we have arguably the hardest game as we are away. I know our away results are terrific but (there's always a but) it can't go on forever. I think a draw would be a very good result but while drawing against the team's below us as games begin to run out is good, we still have to watch out if they win their other games.

Likewise I don't feel particularly good about this one.

Without Hardie it will be difficult to see if we can really break down their defence and, although they'll possibly be missing their lead goalscorer, we'll be missing a couple of defenders.

I'm going for a Nil Nil draw

I think we're all getting a wee bit edgy now fearing that something that is within grasp might slip away. It's Livi after all. Razz
I've been waiting for the baw to burst all season. Let's hope it remains inflated till the end.
But aye, I'm nervous about this one too. Could go either way. (Obviously! Very Happy )

Aye but you'd predict a Livi win against Man City & Barcelona even if we were playing them both simultaneously on two back to back pitches!! lol!

Tough Tough game to call tommorow. They will no doubt be cock a hoop with their result in midweek .Having said that i feel that we,although Hardieless will have enough in the locker to at least take something from this game.Personally id go with Rafa up front with Miller for at least the first half.with possibly Cadden and Josh pushing up the wings and getting some good balls in with Pitts just in behind the strikers.Robinson on the bench would be a good altrnative if we need a plan B.Defence looks solid as usual so hopefully no problems there.Have said it before anything other than a defeat will do for me,so cmon Livi .Lets do it!!!

Having looked on the SFA site it appears that Halkett and Lithgow could be available this weekend as, unless I'm reading it wrong, it looks like their suspensions don't start until 27th. Of course that means they'll both miss the Dumbarton game.

Byrne on the bench and Gallagher playing in midfield again going by the starting X1, Hoppy did similar with keeping Toddy in defence when Gallagher was back from a suspension against the Pars and it didn't work out well. Buchanan is better in defence than Toddy right enough but Byrne is a better holding midfielder than Gallagher so we're playing with a weakened team keeping Byrne out.

At least Robinson is starting, and Hardie is on the bench which is a surprise, should be good for the last 15 mins or so coming on as a sub which will make things interesting.

Got a shock when I looked at our OS twitter to see QoS 2-0 just appearing from nowhere, didn't have them scoring and then they were up 2-0, jeeze.

Great time to get one back though, Rafa scoring from a free kick to make it 2-1. Mon Livi you can do it.

Get Byrne on and drop Gallagher back into defence and we're good to go, really hope Hoppy makes a change soon.

Strange.Kinda feels like a defeat. But 2 0 down and we manage to pull it back only for bigToddy to put the boot in.Still with other results kinda going our way we,re stil looking good for the playoffs. When you think us and Brechin only came up to this division last season its been nothing short of incredible that we find ourselves in the position that we are.Kudos to Hardie for making it back for this.Incidently the bile on P&B from Queens fans about Ferrantie and Meadowbank for gods sake Fech off and give us a break.Been sorely tempted to register there but i darent. My sensability can only be pushed to far.Well done Hoppy and the boys.We go on!!!
