We've gone backwards ever since the board sacked Bollan. I bet they regret that massively, and so they should.

Oh god no, Hughes was just as hard headed about his tippy tappy pish along the backline and rolling it out from the keeper as any manager refusing to change something that isn't working. He still wouldn't admit it was predictable pish even after the Dunfermline embarrassment. Remember he took Scougs out of attacking midfield to holding player to get it out of defence, was like sticking Messi in as a holding player. This hoofball is murder but so was Hughes with his "philosophy" thank fuck he ditched us.

Oh and he wasn't any better at giving youth a chance than Bollan, in fact Bollan brought more youth players through than anyone we've had in the last 6 or 7 years. Hughes chucked on as many youth players as he could for the first few games to kid everyone on and go along with Nixon's lies, it didn't last though and nearly all of our youth players have gone, Hughes ditched Dylan Easton, a really promising young player.

Hughes' time in charge angered me more than MvGlynn's. At least McGlynn comes across as a half decent bloke, working with no budget and therefore a squad very limited ability (and some bad luck wit injuries). A lot of his tactics last season weren't brutal when he had some decent players. Hughes, on the other hand, was simply an arrogant bastard, playing utterly wank football with a decent squad. His tactics wasted so much potential, and at times we couldn't even get the ball out of our defensive third.

I'll wait or Gallagher and Mensing to come back and see how the squad do then. One massive change I've noticed since Gallagher's injury is the confidence and comfort the defense and especially midfield have on the ball. Need to stop the long balls though, the style we used in the game V Hearts reserves could be applied to any league game, and we'd start scoring goals again. It won't happen tough, at least not for some while.
