At least we didn't lose, I'm more than happy with that. Bring Mensing in for that useless fud Sives and start Mullen and Hippolyte up front for the Annan game.

Also, to the frustrated majority of the top row at A3 who left at 2-1: Up ye's.

Agree about needing someone to organise our defence; really hope Mensing is back soon, he's been on the bench the last two games so must be ok to play.

Sives taking himself out as well as another Livi player when he knocked it over his head to Beany initially put us on the back foot for their first and had us all over the place, and they got lucky with a deflection from Talbot's block landing perfectly for Beany too, but Dycey is standing a couple of yards behind him looking on as he heads it into our net and Sives who was our furthest away defender with his pass to Beany has got back to mark Baird so Dycey should have been picking up Russell. So neither of them covered themselves in glory for the first Queens goal.

My biggest gripe with our FB's is when Talbot moves into CB it leaves us with nobody taking the ball up to the byeline, neither Rutherford or Dycey will take a player on and hit the ball from wherever they get it, usually a diagonal ball into the box from about 35 yards back, which is normally bread and butter to defenders and the keeper.

Not seeing the contribution of McKenna either, not in attack anyway, he rarely gets past a player and doesn't get in behind defenders. As soon as he's replaced by Hippo that all changed and we had a player whose first thought is to get the ball forward and take players on, that puts opposition players on the back foot.

Fordyce has little to no pace. Himself and O'Brien must be the slowest players in our squad. Whoever thought it was a good idea to consider him as a FB needs a long, hard look at themselves.

I think Rutherford should commit going forward more with the ball but because of his lack of experience at this level, he's probably shiting it so it doesn't leave a gap in defence should the opposition intercept.

Says a lot for our CB's when currently the best player in that position is a smallish LB being moved in there.

Our defence is really in a bad way, we've a CB who is a bomb scare (Sives), a LB playing CB (Talbot), a CB who is slower than a week in jail in at RB (Dycey), and an inexperienced LB who is too scared to get to the byeline in case he loses the ball and gets caught out of position (Rutherford). Topping that none of them are stepping up to organise the defence.

Kyle playing in midfield adds to breaking up play as he's aggressive in the tackle and gets stuck in but I'd also say he's the best we've got to play at RB as he has a bit of pace and can get up the wing and take players on, same goes with Talbot at LB. Mensing playing would organise the defence and I also think Dycey plays best alongside him. Dycey and Sives together is a recipe for disaster as both of them are likely to get caught out and make mistakes.

Bit of a bummer with injuries with Donaldson being signed up at RB and not kicking a ball in a competitive game and our two best CB's both having turns being injured (well Mensing is almost back playing). Would love to see what our defence would be like with Donaldson, Gallagher, Mensing and Talbot playing.

Having witnessed that long throw in from Hippolyte (pity all those that left early and missed it - gwaff gwaff) its difficult to argue that he shouldn't start. My only concern is that when he's started before he's generally been in the centre and gets crowded out too easily. He's a player who needs space and time which he wasn't getting there.

Actually I don't think Fordyce' top speed is that bad; he can generally keep pace with any attacking winger however his reaction speed when trying to block a winger at the corner from putting a cross in isn't that great.

Was never a great fan of Mensing particularly with the ball on the ground, and his injury is unlikely to have improved that, however he is undoubtedly the man to take control of the defence; lets face, when Mensing shouts at you to get your act in order; you certainly know it.

Always worried about Talbot and the chances of him getting sent off; he used to be a great left back with piercing attacks down the wing and pin-point crosses into the area but haven't seen that side of him for a long time. That being said I can't recall a time in recent memory when he's been ripped apart by any of the opposing forwards - said to have had a bad time against Hearts but didn't everyone.

I actually thought Rutherford did okay; repeatedly robbed their players or beat them to the ball although sometimes he seemed a bit unsure of what to do with it once he'd won it.

Not sure about advocating Donaldson as being suitable for the right-back place without having first seen him play.

I tend to think Kyle is a bit wasted at right-back; okay he does a reasonable job there and tackles to be remembered but often feel he's better linking up with his brother in midfield.

According to my son; Hippolyte has been teaming up really well with Praprotnik in training; the guys seem to be on the same wave length. Difficult to know what to make of this one as I was keen on getting Robertson on from the start.

Yeah not saying Mensing is perfect but he'll win any high ball and is a good organiser, I think him and Gallagher would be as good a CB pairing that we've had for a very long time.

Agree with you on Kyle but looking at options I'd rather have him in at RB than Dycey, same goes for Talbot, Rutherford is prob better defensively than Talbot but for an attacking option him and Dycey don't give us much going down the wings.

Yeah we have no idea what Donaldson is like but the fact it is his actual position I'd like to see him playing there.

Can't actually remember anything about Praprotnik (I can't even pronounce or spell his name without checking it is first), isn't many players in our team that are standing out as must starts just now though so don't know why he isn't getting a chance.

Gallagher was light years ahead of anyone else we've had for quite a time. Him and Fordyce was good enough earlier in the season but him and Mensing would probably be better - certainly wouldn't relish being a forward against those two anyway.

Praprotnik had some nice touches in his run outs towards the end of the last season; unfortunately the one game that he actually started (against Raith?) he had a couple of lapses in concerntration and was substituted at half time (I think). I thought he showed promise but midfield is one area that we're pretty well sorted with a lot of options.

I'd love to see Donaldson play; in any position; or even make the bench. Sounds a really unlucky guy but hopefully he's not going to be like that other guy who apparently arrived with Andreu but never played for the entire season (cracking bit of business by the two Johns).

Seriously though it sounds like the lad's had a really tough time of it:

And can only hope he completes a complete recovery and is able to challenge for a place in the first team

Next Saturday take Gallagher out of that and play Fordyce. Don't rate White at all. A big lanky useless fud.

Aye we know you don't rate White cause you've not got a clue, he's defo been useless all season, idiot!!

Where have I said he's been useless all season? He had a good game against Alloa, and looked pretty handy against Cowdenbeath too, but other than that and his penalty against QOS, he's looked well out of place. Yesterday for example, headed over the bar from about 6 yards out whilst under fairly little pressure. He also failed to hit the target from a slightly wide effort about 4/5 yards out. McGlynn uses him as a target man, but he seems uncomfortable in the air. He's played at this level before and hasn't cut it.

I admit that last night I was bantering you because I felt (feel) that you aren't very sharp, and shouldn't have called him a 'useless h*n', as the boy plays for Livi and should get all of support - so I apologise for that, wasn't clever at all. Crying or Very sad

P.s I new you weren't Jordan White - fact remains I don't rate him too highly.
Fact remains you only rate him when he scores,so that shows you have limited football intelligence. He would be in my team week after week because he is one of our most talented and hardest working players we have at the moment.
Fortunately Mr McGlynn sees it the same way as myself as he plays every game and does not get subbed. I think he maybe knows a wee bit more about football than you. I know you will not agree with me but I won't lose any sleep over it. Ps well done on your apology it was a silly thing to say.

I don't rate White at all, scoring goals or not. One of more hard working players? Maybe, aye. Most talented? Says a lot for the rest of the squad. There's absolutely no doubt that Hips is more talented than White. His shooting is more powerful and accurate than White. His touch, vision and control is far superior also. Hips is a boy with serious talent, and if you can get him in goal scoring positions, he's a massive weapon.

Mullen showed his potential and class yesterday with both his finish and the lead up to the goal, possibly the best league goal we've scored all season. He looks far more comfortable on the ball than White, and we all know things have to change up front, so after his display yesterday (y'know, when he and Hips completely changed the game) he deserves to start.

White was given service on the ground yesterday and completely fluffed it - not or the first time. McGlynn sees him as a target man, but these tactics have proved to be utterly ineffective. Mullen, Hips and even Glen showed more goal threat yesterday.

You're slagging my football intelligence, but I was the first to point out (by some time, btw) that McGlynn and his tactics were all wrong, and it took weeks for everyone else to catch on. We've been playing White under what McGlynn believes to be his strengths and couldn't score a league goal for something like 7 weeks. Yet when McGlynn reverts to the system I suggest we score 2 in something like 5 minutes. You're basing everything on the fact that he had a good game against Alloa, which has resulted in him being our top scorer. Please bare in mind that very similar events resulted in Calum Fordyce being our top scorer for a spell last season.

Based on what I've seen and read this season, yes, I know a lot more about football than punters on the Livi Room and John fucking McGlynn, who is tactically inept.

All about opinions lad and I will accept your apology but judging by the way you are going on I don't think it was just banter. Anyway the fact remains until Jordan White starts missing glorious chances which doesn't happen as we create heehaw you can't drop him like it or not Lexi he's our top goalscorer and has more goals in his professional career than more than Hippolyte, Glen, Ogelby and Mullen combined. He will be our top goalscorer come then end of the season and just cause he maybe isn't easy on your eye he is a talent, rarely gives the ball away when played into feet and a threat in front of goal granted other players are more skillful and faster etc, White remains the best finisher at the club.

Footballing tactics etc is entering another topic completely, I've played the game at a decent level and know what I'm talking about so not going get into footballing intelligence. Let's just hope we can win our next 3 games as mentioned before regardless of who plays.

If he gets the right support from Glen, Keaghan or Mullen, then a team like Annan won't be able to handle us. They're a diddy, route one team who will have two CBs who are at least six foot tall. The best way to beat them is to avoid the hoof ball pish and get the ball to our forwards' feet rather than their heads or chests.

    Sounds like us this season.

Yeah lets hope we keep the ball on the ground and play it to feet, do that and we should win most games.

Hate to say it but that throw in looks suspiciously like a foul throw; his right foot is clearly on the pitch & his heel is off the ground, making him on the pitch; the other foot is very close to being the same if it isn't - difficult to tell, it may still be on the line.

We should've had a penalty for a handball so evened itself out, still a braw throw though.
