Really enjoyed that. Probably the best pre-season friendly I've seen. Arbroath despite being very shaky in the first half really came into it in the second and were unlucky not to score. Their #15 looks a great wee player, hope we take a look if he's a trialist. #6 was such a dirty bastard, shocking tackle on McKenna. Lucky he's used to arseholes like that in the juniors.
Onto us. Really impressed by us. The likes of Sives and Kyle Jacobs who were shocking last season have benefited from a full pre-season with us and look so much better. So much more solid at the back with Gallagher. Liked how Donaldson always looked to go forward and delivered a great ball (so rare at this level) for Hippolyte to head in. FORDYCE. IS. NOT. A. FULLBACK. Get it into your head, McGlynn. Really liked McKenna bombing forward as well and taking on players. Hippolyte was pretty useless on the right but when he came inside, he started to cause problems. Great tackler as well. Love Ogleby. Just needs to get the confidence to finish and he is the complete striker.
First goal came from a mistake in their defence and Kyle Jacobs was left with a one on one and finished well. Another error in their defence let Mullen lift the ball into an empty net.
As I say, very impressed. Think we could cause a few problems and will do better than most people expect, should we play like that. That said, 7th or above is an okay season anyway.
