Re: Team for Next Season
Yeah and think it was 17 the prev season with Alloa. Having both White and Buchanan kinda shared the goals out between them last season, I think either one just being with us would've had 5 or 6 goals more.
Hope Buchanan is still here anyway so we see what he can do in League One. Would hope Mullen and him would make a good partnership and Mullen finally fulfills his potential with us.

I would hope for that too... But I'm not confident that it will pan out that way.

Re: Team for Next Season
Heard Keaghan is back in Scotland and hasn't a team yet, should get an offer in there. Even if we could get him till Jan and it would get him in the shop window for a move to the Championship, or depending how we're doing sticking with us for a promotion push. I'd be doing cartwheels if we signed him back up.

Much as I agree with you, I suspect it will never happen. Wouldn't surprise me to see Hibs pick him up...or Falkirk.

Re: Team for Next Season
More likely Raith will get him, they usually get straight in there for any of our ex players/players. Keaghan would be ideal for Falkirk, he pisses all over Hippo skill wise, scoring goals, tackling, and work rate.

McCallum, Fozzy & Glen removed from the website now so imagine they've been released.
We've signed keeper David Maley from Broxburn apparently.
Darren Cole still on the site

I don't mind us trying to find gems in the juniors but from Broxburn?

Lets just hope DJ doesn't get injured/suspended, unless he's actually fucking amazing.

With respect to the boy, saw a picture of him posted by one of the Livi fan accounts on Instagram and he looks like a Jordyn Sheerin type of Junior player as opposed to a Scott Pittman type of Junior player. If you know what I mean...
Sounds like a jobs for the boys kind of thing, anyway.

Re: Team for Next Season
I see we have missed out on Goodwin, apparently signed for Alloa, so dropping down a division didn't bother him. Chance missed there to get someone on board who would provide much needed steel and would wind up the opposition.

Re: Team for Next Season
Yep Bertie would agree on that one about Goodwin,Alloa have also signed Greg Spence a proven goal scorer at this level.Ufortunatly the seemingly lack of recruitment from messrs Hopkin and co regarding a strikeforce that would justify the bookies optimism of having placed us as 5/2 favourits for our league absolutely bamboozals me.William Hills must know something that we dont.Yes weve signed a few new players who we know relatively nothing about and they may prove to be decent but surely the priority must now be to get help for the remaining guys up front before were left with panic buys just to make up the numbers.IMO we are simply not good enough to occupy the berth as favourits for this division at the moment in fact i find it kind of embarressing especaily as the silence coming from the club is deafening.Cmon Livvy sort it out before its too late!!!

Re: Team for Next Season
The bookies have us down as favourites, really!
We've lost our best player who was a proven goal scorer in this league, White, and Telfer & Stanton who were another two of our best players are away back to their parent clubs. We've recruited maybe one player from Airdrie that is rated and the rest couldn't get 1st team regular starts. And we couldn't beat the 4th best team in this league from last season in the play offs, how the feck can we be seen as favourites?
Our defence is a complete unknown, the midfield should be decent, and if Buchanan stays we should have a decent enough strike force, providing he doesn't get injured. Even then the squad is a bit threadbare and could do with some back up for injuries and suspensions, esp in the strikers dept. We're still an unknown quantity though and will have to wait to see how we get on in a competitive game.

Few new faces at the stadium when I walked past earlier, most of them will be the guys already confirmed though. Looks like another goalkeeper on trial too, which would make signing the guy from Broxburn seem a bit weird if he's better.

Re: Team for Next Season
Read on Callum Carson's twitter that Hopkin is still looking to bring in a couple of players.
Wonder what positions he's looking at, pretty well covered in midfield, defence has players that can cover for injuries or suspensions too but we're still a bit light up front so wouldn't mind seeing a big striker coming in.

Agreed, we need a strong lad up front to let the wee guys feed off him; or an out & out goal machine.

Re: Team for Next Season
We need a natural RB so our best central defender doesn't have to fill in that position every game.

And a holding midfielder who brings some bite into the team. I can tell Miller will only go as far as a simple interception while Sinclair's only quality is playing a ten yard pass when nobody is near him.

Re: Team for Next Season
Unless we sign a better one (not very likely) i'm happy having Halkett as RB, he's the best player we've had playing there for donkeys years.

You're probably right. For the budget we'll have, we probably won't find one who'll play better than if Halkett was kept in that position.

Re: Team for Next Season
I asked Hopkin at the fans forum a few weeks back about the possibility of strenghthening our forward line and told us to be patient as he was working on it.Weeks have gone past and unfortunately ive seen no progress on this matter. Its so frustrating that he obviously cant see where our major flaws are if we are to have any chance of promotion this season. If we are to go with what weve got i foresee an extremely tough time ahead for us and will do well to make the playoffs nevermind winning the bloody thing.Absolutly gutted to be sounding so negative at the start of the season but i just dont know where the goals are going to come from unless he shocks us and delivers on his promise.Sorry guys im just being realistic here. Please prove me wrong Livi!!!

Re: Team for Next Season
So far Cadden and Mullin have provided most of our goal threat with 5 between them and a few assists, Mullen, Buchanan and Carrick have a goal each. So goals are being spread around, which is good, but I want to see our strikers getting more goals than our midfielders.
