In talks with 3 more signings too, does that mean Hopkin is staying on or is there someone else down at Livi making all these signings. If a new manager was coming in I doubt we'd be making moves for players just now.

    Airdrieonians
    Albion Rovers
    Alloa Ath
    Brechin
    East Fife
    Livingston
    Queens Park
    Peterhead
    Stenhousemuir
    Stranraer

Prob only be going to 5 of those away venues, Airdrie, Albion Rovers, Alloa, East Fife & Stenny. Don't fancy QP and the rest are too far away.

    Albion is a dump

Not been to East Fife or Stranraer for football; where do QP play their home games? Vast empty Hampden or somewhere else? It's a list of teams that don't fill me with any fear but after the horsing we got at Stranraer in the 1st leg, I'm taking nothing for granted

Queens Park play in big Hampden, so at least we'll get a couple trips there.

AR's ground looks a lot better than it did when I first went there for a Livi game in the 3rd div. Was talking to some of their fans at our cup game 2 seasons ago and they made a couple of hundred grand from their Sevco games, incl the Ramsden cup one.
Can remember Alloa's ground being a bit of a tip when we played them in a cup game, when we were in the SPL, they've tidied it up a lot since then, think Stranraer was the same.

East Fife have a tidy little stadium, like Dumbarton's it has just the one stand. Was in their stadium bar the last time I went there, overlooks the pitch, very nice. Good job Rankine is away now, with us and EF in the same league.

    "Boardroom talks ongoing"

Hopefully means that they're just deciding whether or not to keep Hopkin on as a coach.

But unfortunately I think it's more that he's staying and it's just about his budget and the kind of squad he wants etc.

David Hopkin's still going to be the manager, isn't he?

Must admit that I'm strangely looking forward to Albion and QP away. Quite decent that 6 of the away trips are within an hour or so's drive from Livi.

Would be happy having Hopkin as a youth coach, he's just not the guy to manage the first team and get us back into the Championship.

Sean Crighton and Alan Lithgow sign from Airdrie on 2 year deals.

Also just got Currie tied down for another year.

Hadn't we signed a pre-contract agreement with a striker from Airdrie United a month or two back or did I dream it?

    EDIT: Liam Watt?

If that means Darren Cole is away then that's great news, now if it gets announced on the OS along with Hopkin being replaced as manager then it would make my week.

Yep, we're quickly becoming Airdrie B. Though Ross County strolled the league with a team full of ex-Livi players, maybe just trying to copy them.

Maybe we've been in talks with Gary Bollan about coming back and he's identified all these Airdrie players for his new signings. One can but dream.

That should see the attendances for next season around the 600 mark then...

The board are "Delighted" too. Fucking hell.

Aye continuity is the boards main objective, a continual decline.

Hopkin will get about 3 games to get wins or he's going to be getting pelters from our fans. If we aren't in the top 4 by xmas there'll be 2 folk and a dug going to our games.

I really think they want to drive the fans away, can't see any other reason for this appointment, they must read the fans forums and FB page, Livi fans weren't wanting Hopkin as manager. How to lose fans and alienate them, it's a Livi FC publication, out for xmas, £10.99 or 1p in the pound when we go into admin 3.

Got to laugh at the people on Twitter and Facebook putting a positive spin on this appointment. It's an absolute shitebag appointment from a board who no one knows.
It crazy to think our board are "delighted" to appoint someone who you can tell has absolutely no clue what he's doing. The guys blagged his way into another year, all the board need to do is look down at the touch line and see exactly what he's (not) doing.
I can also guarantee I've got more coaching badges than Hopkin, I should have stuck my name in the hat!

Very uninspiring. Hopkin should have left after the first leg in Stranraer and with the chance to get rid, the board should have jumped at it and let people apply. I have absolutely no doubt there's someone out there who isn't as tactically naive.

2 year deals for these players is for me, extremely foolish. Obviously will give them a chance but they are playing at an average team in this league for a reason.

I fear this season will go very badly and we'll be left with donkeys. Even if they do prove themselves at this level, we'll get found out if we go up.

Considering the lifespan of a manager's reign at any club is as short as its ever been, the claim by the board that the club are aiming for continuity makes no sense. It's also ironic that the club only offer him a one year deal while making this claim.

And the way the network is between players in Scotland, I wouldn't be surprised that good players at this level will turn us down simply through word of mouth from our current players or ex-players who don't rate him as a manager.

The club could've already appointed or at least reached the closing stages of the selection process if they had binned Hopkin as soon as the play-offs finished. But surely now he must've made a condition that he brings in an experienced, qualified coach as his assistant or dual role as Head of Youth if he was looking to bring back a development team?
