Peterhead v Livi Empty Peterhead v Livi

Post by Liviforever Thu Sep 29, 2016 9:20 pm

Peterhead haven't started well but we always find it a tough away game travelling up there, and as last week proved, we can't take anything for granted, we need to be on our game ourselves.

Defensively we need to improve from last week, over the top balls need to be dealt with straight away and just clear our lines. We'll prob go back to a back 4 with Halkett and Crighton as CB's, Neill at RB and Longridge LB.

We've won our appeal on Miller so midfield should be ok, though if we go with a back 4 one of our wingers will likely be dropped to the bench. Imo Mullin has been more consistent than Cadden but he's an excellent impact sub too.

Up front is pretty much screwed down with Mullen and Buchanan, hopefully they'll both get back on the goal scoring trail in this game.

Hard fought Livi win, 3-1 Livi, fg 22 mins. Mon the Lions.cheers

A good performance from the lads is required tommorow to make up for last weeks debacle and to take some momentum across the Irish sea next week.As L/f said the Blue Toon havent had the best of starts this season but their at home and as long as they have Mcalister they remain a threat to us albeit hes had a lean time of it so far this term which is unusual.Any kind of favourable result will do for me tommorow and possibly if other results go our way we could find ourselves back at the summit.Over to you Livi.Do it!!!

    Livingston FC ‎@LiviFCOfficial
Today's starting XI - Kelly, Miller, Longridge, Neill, Halkett, Mullin, Cadden, Pittman, Buchanan, Crighton & Mullen. #livilive

Playing 2 wingers this time instead of the usual two holding midfielders (Byrne & Miller), I prefer this line up though as it looks more balanced for attack.

1-1 HT, looks like we're making chances for ourselves more as the game goes on but it's anyone's game still. Hopefully we get the next goal and push on to win it.

Dancer, heard on my car radio that Mullen got a 2nd goal and was scared to check the final score when I got home. Smile

Good result in the Alloa game too, pity Brechin managed to scrape a win. Up past Alloa and still a point behind Brechin. Nearly a perfect day. Very Happy

Yeah, good to bounce back with a win after the Methil mess. Alloa losing makes it sweeter just a pity Brechin keep producing odd goal wins.

Very welcome 3 points from what i thought was going to be a tough match. When they scored early i thought oh no here we go again but well done to the lads for pulling it back.Wee Danny seems to have hit a purple patch at the moment and he must be a nightmare for some defences to play against.Had hoped for a response from last weeks debacle and albeit a grinding display from the boys it gives us a wee bit of momentum for next friday over the Irish Sea.Thoughts on that one later in the week but once again well done Livi, keep it up!!!

Good win against a pretty determined Peterhead team. Bit of a cliche but it really was one of those games that you have to win if you want to win promotion. Didn't think we looked too great, started off shakily with the three at the back but credit to Hopkin, he must've learned his lesson from last week and dropped Longridge back to make a back four, and from then on it was a much more even contest. Mullen's first goal was a fine strike, great turn and finish; incredible what a run of games can do for a player. Still not as confident about next week as I maybe was after the Brechin game, but no reason why we can't go over there and give it a good go. Will be interesting to see if Halkett is available after his disagreement with the bench when he came off, the team is poorer without him tbh.
