We should have a full strength team out for this one, looking forward to seeing us lifting the cup and I think we'll be right up for this game too. Hopefully it'll be as good an atmosphere as the game we won the league a couple of weeks back and we get over 1,000 coming down to see the team being presented with the League Trophy.

    3-0 Livi, FG 12 mins.

As a bit of a party pooper myself (yes I expect some light hearted banter from LF at the very least on that comment) - I can feel in my water that a Peterhead Party Pooper preventing proper partying will occur. However as we have successfully swept the rest of the league away, I will venture to stick my neck out a little further than you would normally expect....

Peterhead should be at their absolute best with wanting to avoid the drop... but they lost 1-0 in a massive game to Stenny last week. They'll take that game as more motivation to get a result here, but we'll be at full strength and Hopkin hasn't let the team take their foot off the gas.

Hopefully get a good crowd in for this, not sure what kind of away support will be down (wouldn't think too many), but hopefully we can get around the 1,000 mark.

    3-0 Livi, FG 23 mins.

Quite despondent, but not surprised, that it's Wednesday now and there's been next to nothing from the club about Saturday's game. A big chance missed, and although I'd expect us to get over 1,000, there was a potential for a lot more.

The club have been on Facebook and Twitter hyping this game with a competition. The winner gets to present the medals. You just have to share the message. A good way to spread the word.

Yeah Orco that's a great way to advertise the game itself but there is no special promotion going on to try and entice folk down, reduced entry, bring a friend for ST holders, free school tickets to all the schools. Just something special to hit you in the face and get the attention of lapsed fans or occasional footie fans, or even a family looking for something different to take their kids to.

No real special effort has been made to make it a great day out for EVERYONE, and letting the local community know about it.

Engaging with the fans - great. Something we've been sorely lacking over the past couple of years, and I'm glad they're doing more on that front (even if the competition is being run by Ladbrokes).

Not advertising or at least offering some sort of deal for the day when we're presented with a league title is a missed opportunity, and a fairly big one at that. They could've cut gate prices to £5; free tickets to Primary kids (they may have but I'm going to say no); or let ST holders give voucher 25 to a friend to get in for free/half price.

Granted, he was a bit of a nutter most of the time, but if anyone remembers livibudgie from the other board and LiviLions, he constantly banged on about how the club was missing a trick by not expanding their horizons advertising wise, looking for something outwith football, and getting the local college, which is a miscued goal kick away from Almondvale Stadium, involved.

You could ask 10 random punters down Livi centre on Saturday morning if they knew who we were playing that afternoon. 7 would suddenly remember who we were, two would think we were still in the Championship and the other one may have an inkling.

Without ridiculing anyone at the club, and I appreciate there is no budget for it whatsoever, but if they approached advertising with even half the importance given to the recent call for accounts and ground staff then the benefits would be worth it.

Looking forward to joining my fellow supporters tommorow for the celebration of a succsesfull season for the Lions. The result will be secondary to me but i reckon the lads will want to put on a good show for the home faithfull for the last time.Slightly off topic here but i agreed with Orcos comments on another forum about the prices for the POY doo .Reckon theve scored an own goal here as many fans who will no doubt spend a lot off money at the game tommorow will alas not be abel to attend the awards ceromony due to the inflated price the club are asking.Shame, though its Livi after all so we should expect nothing less after all the good will that seems to be coming from the club lately.Like Orco i wont be there and i know many others who wont be either.Sorry but just saying Lol.

At 3-0 I thought this prediction had half a chance but we started the second half poorly and in the end 4-1 was pretty close.

I thought we played well in the first half, Rafa had some superb passes & touches, Pittman did what Pittman does. The 2nd & 3rd goals were excellent team goals, the 4th also featured good teamwork & a spectacular finish from Mullen. Not sure what the confusion about its validity stemmed from, was he possibly offside & got away with it?

Disappointing to see Gallagher & Cadden getting injured, metatarsal & dislocated shoulder perhaps?

Funniest moment of the day was Big Dec on his crutches trying to bounce with the rest of the guys as they celebrated. lol!

Spot on with my time of first goal, should've just ended the game at HT and i'd have got the score right too.

Brilliant first half from Livi, great build up play for our 2nd and 3rd goals, Rafa's pass was superb setting it on a plate for Pittman, well stuck away too though.

2nd half was a bit flat and the two injuries made it even worse, hope neither is too serious. Yep agree with you Bertie, dunno what the confusion was with Mullen's goal, looked another good goal from him but took a wee while for it to be given.

96 goals for the season too, another 4 goals next week to hit 100.

We won 4-1 so it's not sour grapes but that referee and linesman were awful.

Wasn't as bad as last week though, thought he started off ok but then got worse as the game went on.

Liked this bit in a pre game interview by McInally:
McInally believes the two clubs’ respective final fixtures favour his side. He said: “Two games to go against the top two teams in the league – easy peasy.
“I’m very comfortable about the last two fixtures we have, while Stenhousemuir have to play two teams trying to reach the play-offs.
“Everyone is telling me we have two tougher fixtures than they do but we’re playing sides who have achieved what they wanted this season while Stenny are playing two teams who are still trying to reach the play-offs and because of that they have something to play for.

“Whatever happens, we all will have played the same fixtures and there can be no excuses but I’m still confident we can win our last two games

So far so good for him then. lol!

Didn't think we played that well once we went 2-0 up, but for all Peterhead huffed and puffed, they looked like a team short on quality and confidence. McAllister's regression into a total jobber is now complete; he'll score in League 2 for them but he's finished in this division now.

Great scenes at the end and it's been a well deserved title. I wasn't a fan of Hopkin at the start of the season, nor until very recently, but his managerial ability has undoubtedly improved and whilst there are still flaws, he deserves credit for imposing a professionalism and winning mentality on a good squad of players. I'm still unsure how next season will go but there's no doubt we have the basis of a good team; whether that can be built upon substantially enough to make a real fist of the Championship remains to be seen IMO, but for now we should enjoy the moment and look forward to Saturday's game.

Yep totally agree with your sentiments Afro.A thoughrally enjoyable day at the Vale yesterday capped of with profesional display from the lads and a deserved victory against a Peterhead side who look as if they have downed tools for the season.Hope the injuries sustained are not to serious after the effort shown throughout the season from both Nicky and big Decs.Massive thanks to David Hopkin and all of his backroom staff and indeed the whole squad.Hope you all had as good a day as we all had.As Afro says savour this moment because it might be a wee while for it to happen again.Well done the Lions!!!

What a great bit of patient passing of the ball building up to our 2nd goal, brilliant pass by Rafa picking out Scotty P too. Great to see us doing this instead of just lumping it up the pitch. The ball is still bobbling about a bit as well, just think what we'd do on a nice even plastic pitch if we get one for next season.
