Hibs 2-1 Livi (League Opener)
We've drawn our first 2 competitive games in normal time have a feeling this will also be a draw. 2-2 with the FG 22 mins.

This is where it gets real. I think Stubbs will have them pumped up & much as I would love it if we beat them, love it!

Feeling quite optimistic about this. I think we'll play well and get a much deserved draw. Would love to sneak a last minute winner though. But I'm going 1-1. FG 18 minutes.

I agree; I would love for us to give them a real doing but sadly I fear that despite how garbage they were last season, they will be too strong for us.

Re: Hibs 2-1 Livi (League Opener)
I've no idea of the Hibs team for this season - I know they let loads of players go, but who have they signed? They've got Farid El Alagui and Scott Allan (tremendous player if he sorts his attitude out), but who else?
I refuse to believe they can be as bad as they were under Butcher - and that's the level they'd need to be at for us to beat them (that sounds really defeatist, but I can't put it another way).
I'm going 2-1 Hibs, first goal on 13 minutes. It'll be joy unconfined in the Mozam hoose if I'm wrong.

Re: Hibs 2-1 Livi (League Opener)
Hibs haven't done too well against Championship teams, Raith and Hamilton, they may also take a few games to settle in to life in the lower leagues. We should also be well fired up for it as underdogs, so i really have faith we'll get something from this game.
If we get the first goal I think the crowd will get on their backs and they'll be under a lot of pressure. Just hope our defending of set pieces is better than the QoS game as Farid scored twice against us at TFS from set pieces.

Just read Sives is suspended for this game, prob have Dycey pairing up with Gallagher, or Talbot as CB keeping Dycey and Rutherford in the same positions as FB's. Would prefer Dycey as the CB though and playing Rutherford on the right if he can play there.
Ogleby is doubtful too but we've plenty options up front.

Wonder what kind of support we'll take through for this, the price will throw some people off (£22 is ridiculous for a Championship game).
Think we'll have a good go at them, but can't see us taking anything from it. Would love to be proved wrong though.
2-1 Hibs, 30 minutes for the first goal.

I like our chances in this one. Hibs are for the taking and although we weren't great against Albion Rovers, we kept a clean sheet.

I really wanna say 2-0 Livi but unfortunately I think we'll lose to this mob. 2-1 to them, FG 44 mins.

Re: Hibs 2-1 Livi (League Opener)
Hibs looked toothless up front last night, Farid missed a couple of good chances and it took Sevco's comic cut defending with about three of their player knocking the ball onto a Hibs player inside their box for Hibs to score. Noticed an awful lot of balls being put into the box from the diagonals, which were easily dealt with.
Sevco didn't look too clever either, on that performance we shouldn't be worried by either of them.
We weren't that great against Albion either right enough but we still should be pretty positive going into this game, Hibs are no world beaters and don't see any reason to fear them.

Re: Hibs 2-1 Livi (League Opener)
They were pretty dreadful in the first half, but looked quite good in the second. Played some good stuff at times. Sevco look like they'll be playing boring hoofball and trying to grind out 1-0 wins all season.
Still think we'll give Hibs a good game, maybe get a draw. Can't see us winning unfortunately.

Re: Hibs 2-1 Livi (League Opener)
Regarding the Rangers-Hibs game last night, in good time, both teams will be a lot sharper in all areas. Neither are world beaters like Liviforever said and it will be a lot more tighter at the top than some people may have predicted.
Can't see us winning this but we do have a fitness advantage in that we've played more competitive games and have had seven days recovery time. It would be good to have a line-up like this. If we hit them early on, they'll tire out quicker, hopefully.
1-1, 23rd minute for first goal.

Livi on Alba and Forth 2 now, we are moving up in the world!djs9750 wrote:Heard on Radio Forth that hey will be broadcasting a live commentary from this game on Forth2.
Watched bits of the Hibs game last night in between the referendum coverage and thought they looked okay but still pretty shaky at the back. Their right-back Gray looked a really good outlet on the right so Talbot and McKenna will have to work hard to watch him and Harris. Hopefully we start well like we have been in recent games. No idea on our team, will depend on the fitness of Keaghan and Ogleby. I
I don't think they'll let their fans down with a flat performance but I think we've done okay in our first two games and shown enough that makes me believe we won't shite it like we did for every big occasion last season. I think their pre-season has been too disjointed for them to completely hit the ground running though.
Agree with Liviforever with 2-2. First goal 13 mins.

I'm buzzing for this, as an aside. Meeting Lexi for a few beforehand so will be suitably merry by the time I get in. Will try and sneak in with the out of date student card as I think them charging over £20 is a joke.

Orco will be well chuffed with the referee for this game, Bobby Madden.
Wasn't he our ref against Alloa last season in the opening game, refused to book any Alloa players for continually pulling us back and wandering off with the ball to stop us taking free kicks right away, and ended up sending Doc off.

All of the above is correct. More's the pity. I need that emoticon with the head banging itself off a wall.

Re: Hibs 2-1 Livi (League Opener)
Holly crap 2-0 Hibs, Farid from a corner and Oxley the Hibs keeper scores from a kick up the park over DJ's head and into our net. Think i'll go have a lie down in a dark room.
Gonna be one of those days for Livi, I'm scared to check on the game for more goals now.
