Re: The ex-Lions thread
A few goals from ex players today in the Betfred, Hippo getting a brace for the Pars and Mackin doing the same for Falkirk. Mullin chipping in with an assist for County too.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Aye, Hippo is in his best scoring run yet by the looks of it. He must be close to top scorer in this competition so far. Funnily enough I’d forgotten that Mackin went to Falkirk. If he bagged 2 he is out scoring our players. I think we have 5 goals & 5 different scorers.

Would have preferred we kept mackin...I know he divided opinion but he was a different option up front and he knew where the goal was

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Boyd has scored 3 goals like that now, kept waiting for him to hit one of those for us last season but it never happened, was a bit too tunnel vision running with the ball until he lost it and not looking up to make passes. Completely dropped out of Hoppy's team selection in the last few games and the play offs, but you could see he had a bit of skill about him. Still, i'd take Sibbald over him every day of the week, Sibbs has all the skill and knows when to make a pass.

Think he went back to Hamilton before Frizzel came in on loan.

That's who I was thinking of, wee Frizzel, Boyd wasn't very good at all for us was he, and Frizzel came to us on loan from Killie.

Boyd was too greedy. Tried to do everything on his own rather than pass.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Frizzel came on and turned the game for us when it was slipping away, think it was against Morton. Never really got much of a chance after that and was left out of the play offs. Would've liked to have seen him getting a few more games as he showed promise.
Yeah Boyd just took the ball and got beat, never looked up to make a pass.Wasn't bothered when we went back to Hamilton.

Watching the scores come in on sky sports today I couldn't help but notice the number of ex livi players scoring. Carrick, Bobby Barr, Danny denholm and Buchanan were some that i remember

Kenny Miller to join Dundee pending a medical, hope their medical doesn't include a fitness test. He'll really help them with their goal scoring problem.

Wonder what happened to the St Midden link? Stubbs seemed keen but it all went quiet pretty quickly after the initial “Miller could play against his former club” ramblings that took place after he left us.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Just checked - Kenny Miller scored one goal (against Annan Athletic after Hamilton gifted him the perfect assist) in 610 minutes of competitive football.
Actually I'm struggling to think of a forward we've had in the last three years with a worse scoring record - and three of those games were with lower league opposition (excluding short term loan "strikers")

Lee Miller's goals to game ratio is pretty poor too but he does more for the team than Kenny ever did

I suppose so - one goal in 416 minutes isn't great but as you say he's contributed so much more and often has had to play totally isolated.
Just as a bit of fun Hamilton has two goal (plus a penalty scored in a penalty shootout) for 313 minutes of football (twice the goals for almost half the time - eat your heart out KM). And that's for an inexperienced youngster still learning his trade.

How they're spinning it is 'Dundee won the race for Kenny Miller'; WON must be code for something else, like GOT LANDED. St Mirren got away with one there.
The longer Dundee and St Mirren back their managers the better it is for us, both will improve once they punt McCann and Stubbs. We'd have been in right mess along beside them had our board not realised their mistake and acted quickly to rectify it.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Can you imagine Miller playing against Lithgow?
Although in reality he seemed to prefer the left side meaning he'd be more likely up against Gallagher (and Kaja perhaps)

Kenny Miller signs a two year contract with Dundee - unbelievable; particularly if the reports of £2k per week are to be believed.

David Hopkin got his first win as Bradford manager last night. Their fans seem really impressed with the extra fight their players are showing and how much better their defence has started to look.
