Re: The ex-Lions thread
Think we did him a favour on Fri, dominating Shankland and not giving him a single shot at our goal, giving Clarke an easy decision to make, keeping Dykes as our number one Scotland striker. Also gets us a few thousand quid for each Scotland appearance from add ons in the QPR deal.

Gives them a better option than Shankland when they're playing us anyway, McNulty can come deep and run with the ball, though doubt he'll be anywhere as much a threat as he was at Hibs, they don't have as good players to make use of his talents.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Championship opener on a Fri night between Hearts and Dundee had a few ex Lions in it.
Halkett & Halliday for Hearts.
Dorrans & Mullen for Dundee, also Shaun Byrne on the bench, with McPake managing them too.

Odoffin is fairly racking up the goals for Accies, scoring another one tonight against Stranraer, wonder how he'd have done for us if we'd played him as a CB. Going by how bad we've been this season he couldn't have done much worse anyway.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
I think he’s scored an og & been sent off this season too though... but when they played us at the Vale he was outstanding & better than any centre half performance I’ve seen from our guys so far.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Another goal from the penalty spot for Dykes tonight in QPR's 3-2 win over Rotherham.
Dykes is deadly from the pen spot this season, yet couldn't score from it last season. Would've had about 20 goals last season had he been able to score pens. Now that's about 7 this season, 3 for us before he left too.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Stevie Lawless joins a host of ex Livi players at Motherwell, really is getting to be like a Livi 2nd XI there now. Brilliant player for us and a bit gutted he's signed for another SPFL Premiership team, hate playing against ex Livi players that did so well (nae pun intended) at us. Was bad enough seeing big Dec playing against us with them, now we'll have Liam Kelly and Lawless.
Lamie and White i'm not so bothered about, and Crawford can't play against his parent club.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Yeah, didn’t want him to leave but really it was based on last season & when you analyse it most of his goals were penalties. His scoring record for Partick & us was around 1 goal every 6 games which is nothing to fear (last season in isolation was 1 in 3 which is obviously better but it only brought it back to 1 in 6 over his entire time here).
He was a product of Motherwell’s youth system & never played for their first team before being shipped out to Albion Rovers & then his move to Thistle. He only played 16 times for Burton & failed to score, so this is probably a good move for him & allows him to finally get a chance at the club he began his career with.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
He assisted most of Dykes goals too, wouldn't say there is nothing to fear from him, he's very good at hitting the bye line and getting the ball across the box, as well as scoring the odd goal. Would also argue some of our penalties came from him getting balls to Dykes and other players inside the box.
He's very skilful on the ball too, was by far the most skilful ball player we had, read numerous players in interviews saying they could hardly get the ball off him in training.

Jordan White signed for County now, Hughes signings are already on track to take them down, Andreu is past it and i don't think White is good enough for the top flight. Can't fault his commitment and effort, that's prob what attracted Hughes to signing him.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Robbo signed for Killie, that went well for him then, chucking it with us to end up in the Championship. At least we wont be playing against him in a Premiership team this season anyway.
Will be interesting to see how he gets on at Killie, and if he'll massively regret getting carried away with himself after hitting a purple patch with us. Lawless is a classic example of everything going great at one club and having his best ever season, and it not continuing at another club.

Part of the coaching staff, under Jack Ross.
Bit of a gamble going to Utd, their fans have high expectations of them being in the top 6 this season, and wont be patient if they get off to a bad start. They're not even happy winning games by the odd goal, they want to be running over the top of teams playing them off the park. Tough gig being a manager at Utd.

Hibs finished 3rd, they can’t go any higher… the only way is repeat or downwards… pretty sure he’s a Hearts fan too so maybe couldn’t bring himself to take a job across the city… unlikely but you never know

Jon Guthrie made the league 2 team of the week last weekend & got his first goal for Northampton yesterday.
