And I think he won a header that led to the setting up of the third. Think I'm going to be taking more than a passing interest in QPR for the next while.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
According QPR twitter match feed he had quite an impact... assisted, scored, created another chance after winning the ball back & involved in the build up for the third. He had one or two other mentions too.
Missing him already!

Hopefully gets a start for Scotland in these 2 games coming up too, would be great if he does well at International level, it'll maybe get him noticed by some Premiership down South, and also add extra value to his price for a move too. Which will get us a big chunk from the sell on fee.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Starting for Scotland tonight then, kerching, some dosh heading Livi's way for Dykes getting a Scotland cap.
Thinking about it, from Queen of the South, to Livingston, to Queens Park Rangers, keeping with this trend his next move has to be Liverpool.

Contributed to the winning of the pen.
Has taken up some good positions but greedy Celtic players shooting instead of playing him in.
Alternatively he could end up at Liversedge

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Yeah decent debut from Dykes, poor from everyone else though, esp Forrest, would be better giving his wee brother a call up.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Dykes was always working, showed some good control & lay offs but the rest of them were ponderous & had no clue how to draw Israel out. Israel weren’t much better & scored a good goal from their point of view but from ours the defence was static & Marshall should have saved it.
Clarke showed his own lack of tactical nous by playing into Israel’s hands, lack of selection sense by picking McTominey & McKenna, lack of imagination by replacing Dykes with Burke, he should have played them both with Burke wide using his pace to threaten the Israeli defence & get crosses in.
Robertson looks like a Queen’s Park player in a Scotland shirt because he has no one ahead of him creating space for him to bomb forward as per his Liverpool persona. He is arguably our best player but not the way we play him.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
I was bored well before half time. I hate watching a team pass across, pass back, pass across pass back. They needed someone to take it by the scruff of the neck and bring the forwards into the game. The Scotland teams having been playing like this for the last number of years no matter who the manager is. They look feart in case they make a mistake. Disappointing!

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Thought the big man had a decent debut last night. As has been said, better service to him would have reaped dividends but was tough to watch.Set up the pen with his knockdown, and i also noticed like he did with us back helping out his defence on numerous occasions. Puzzeled why he was subbed, but should be proud of his performance and can only get better if supplied with better service. Well done Lyndon.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Well done Dykesy, getting his first goal for Scotland, and helping us with a win too.
For the love of god Clarke, scrap this back 3 formation, it's worse than Livi at the start of the season playing it, we were being ripped by a last minute thrown together Czech team, dread to think what'll happen against a decent team playing that defence. Nice build up play leading up to our equaliser though, and well stuck away by Dykes, he's had 2 good performances, should have secured a starting place in the next game.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Dykes has looked good in both games, pity about the rest of the shambles behind him.
McTominay is a wasted shirt, McKenna isn’t much better. Why do these oh so clever managers insist in playing players out of position when they have players who play that position on the bench? What kind of message does that send to the guy on the bench? McTominay is not a defender & is a mediocre midfielder so why is he in the defence ahead of every defender on the bench? McKenna is a defender but he’s been a poor defender for a couple of seasons now.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
And Gallagher is a proven good defender. So is Halkett incidentally but unfortunately for him he chose Hearts.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Without sounding biased i thought Dykes and possibly Marshall were the only ones to get pass marks from me.The rest were aufull and indeed i thought the Czeks were unfortunate not to take a point from this game.Stronger teams would have gubbed us last night and it just reiterates how frustrating it is watching Scotland at the moment.Steve Clark has a monumental task ahead if last nights fayre is anything to go by with this group. But hey,its Scotland so we shouldnt be surprised. Once again, well done Lyndon and hope the injury isnt to serious.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Gallagher was part of the best back 3 in the Premiership too, so has proven he can play well in that formation. Needs scrapped though, we were piss poor in defence our last 2 games.

Not just in defence, midfield was a waste of space too.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Lyndon won and scored a penalty to open his goal account for QPR in their first league game. Also had a hand in their 2nd, that's them sitting top of the table, lets hope they finish the season there too, 500K bonus in Dykes contract for Livi if they get promoted.

Sure the BBC report's not right:
BBC wrote:Queensland-born Dykes, a junior rugby league star in Australia who switched to football thanks to the guidance of his Scottish father, cost Rangers a six-figure fee and has already repaid some of that sum with his opening day heroics.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Just think though, if he'd scored that pen against St Johnstone he'd have been taking all our pens and could've added 8 goals to his season's tally, hitting 20/21 goals, wonder what that would've done to his price tag.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
I see Marc McNulty has signed a season long loan with Dundee United. They're just greedy with strikers now. They've got Shankland, Nicky Clark, Louis Appere and several other who are not first picks. Mind you, you can't play them all so some might get despondent at not getting a game

Just seen that Dykes has donated his first two Scotland shirts to QoS and Livingston. What a guy!
