It feels good to be taking the piss about this considering how many managers we have wanted gone in the few years before (and including) Hopkin.

Hardie was still out LL.

Celtic dismantling St Johnstone and Hearts surrendering to Sevco at Ibrox, but we're still above Sevco and in the top 6.

No football for us this weekend with the cup semi's taking priority over our league fixture, but two games that have teams up and around us playing.

Killie 0-1 Accies
St Johnstone 0-0 St Mirren

Would be quite happy if those games ended like that. I think we're far enough in front of St Mirren and Accies for us not to worry about them, so the teams around us are more threatening now, esp St Johnstone. I'd like to see them drop points against St Mirren and then us beating them on Wednesday to put good distance between us. Also would like to see Killie lose as they're just one point ahead of us.

I'm at the stage of wanting to see us getting as far up the table as possible to see if we can get one of the prestige European spots.

We'll have a good idea of where we are after the busy Dec fixtures and into the winter break.

Bummer Killie go in level at HT. They always seem to be stronger in the 2nd half too, Accies will need another goal to get anything now, Killie will get a dodgy penalty, they're as bad as Hearts for dodgy decisions this season.

Aberdeen coming back against Killie to win 2-1.

Bad week for us, everything went against us in most of the other games too and we've dropped down to 8th place.

Still very tight points wise but with us playing Celtic and Sevco in our next 2 games it isn't looking good. Only good news is both St Mirren and Dundee didn't gain any ground and are firmly rooted to the bottom 2 spots. Funny how much everything can change in the space of 2 games.

And as I said over on the Accies thread, at least one of Dundee or St Mirren will pick up points next week. The fixtures next week are geared towards teams either pulling away from us or closing the gap on us; guess we’ll just have to beat the old scum eh?

Well at least Morelos is apparently one booking away from a suspension...

Ok we're sitting 8th now and it has gotten really competitive for a top six spot with Aberdeen and St Johnstone upping their game, so being pragmatic we want the teams that are currently under us to lose/drop points today and make sure we maintain a decent gap above them.

Dundee v St Mirren would be a draw so neither close 3 points on us, Accies would be the same against St Johnstone, we really don't want them closing the gap to just 5 points with a win. Chexking results it is going perfectly for us, just 13 mins to go and the Accies game is in the bag for St Johnstone, and Dundee v St Mirren is 1-1.

Good day for us then,

8 pts clear of Accies.
13 pts clear of St Mirren.
14 pts clear of Dundee.

And we've 2 games in hand over all three of them, so Celtic and Sevco games are free hits for us, no matter what happens we wont be any worse off.

They always were free hits for us. The other results largely going our way is a bonus.

7 points clear of Motherwell as well, it's good to know we won't be any further down the table regardless of results in our next 2 vs both arse cheeks.

It was 1-1 when Motherwell had McHugh sent off for a second yellow which also conceded a pen.

Only good thing I suppose is the leathering Motherwell’s GD has taken

Kilmarnock v Dundee
Nothing happening in this game will change our league position. However a Dundee win will keep us within 3 points of Killie but will also close the gap to us to, erm, 16 points.

St Johnsone v Motherwell
St Johnstone go above us with a point, also going above Hearts with a win. Motherwell are staying 9th no matter what the result is.

St Mirren v Aberdeen
Interesting battle at the bottom now with St Mirren and Dundee level on points, St Mirren need to get their act together, draw or win and they could move back up to 11th depending on the result at Rugby Park. Aberdeen won't go lower than 7th no matter what happens, a draw could see them up to 6th while a win could see them up to 4th depending on how St Johnstone (1pt ahead of them) do.

Motherwell doing us a turn and halting St Johnstone's good run, keeping us above them on GD and in the top 6.

St Mirren couldn't manage another goal to stop Aberdeen getting above us though.

Maybe this should be in the 'didn't see that coming' thread, Hibs 2-0 Celtic keeping Killie top of the league.

Makes it some battle for top 6 place too, any of 5 teams could swap positions with one dropping to 7th place, some season we're having that we're one of them.

Not for long tho as Huns beat Accies to go top

Hibs have Sevco at home on Wed now, then us at home on Sat, 3 home games in a row, hopefully they're shagged out when we play them and we hump them 5-0 too.

Us having three games in quick succession did us no real harm (ok we lost the middle one) so I’d expect it not to affect them either. If they beat the Huns in midweek (and they will be confident of doing so after today’s result) they will go above us & be on a real high going into our game.

As long as it goes like the 2004 CIS cup final after Hibs disposed of Rangers and Celtic on their way to playing us in the final.

They did but not within 4 days.

Good to see Dundee have turned a corner.

Here's hoping for a draw or a Sevco win so Hibs stay below us, feels dirty wanting Sevco to get something from a game.

Hibs are pretty shite, they'll be lucky to get a draw here. Sevco aren't very good at finishing though or they'd be well ahead already.
