Some luck Falkirk have had too, they haven't played a top flight team yet and could make it all the way to the final before doing so.

Re: Other Premiership Games
Aye big opportunity lost for us there, don't know if it would've been the same draw for us that they got right enough, we would prob have gotten one of the erse cheeks in the next round. Crazy that it should've been QP through and facing us, they must be even more gutted than us seeing ICT in the semi's.

Re: Other Premiership Games
Only SPFL Premiership games that have any real interest this weekend, are Hearts v Hibs today, and Killie v County tomorrow.
Hearts are up 1-0 and are playing Hibs to see who finishes 4th & 5th.
Killie & County for 10 & 11th, to see who finishes in the play off with Partick. Killie sitting 10th, but County have a better GD and a win would put them on level pts, moving them up to 10th and safety.
A couple of other games could then become interesting too right enough, as there's a slight possibility of Utd escaping straight relegation if they won and County lost, but they'd need an 8 goal swing in GD too. And if Utd did manage any kind of win it gives us a chance of going above Motherwell into 7th, but we'd need to also beat St Johnstone.

Re: Other Premiership Games
Hearts going down to 10 men with Cochrane red carded, and Nisbet scored an equaliser from w free kick. VAR upgrading the original yellow to a red and overturning a pen for a free kick. Ironically if Hibs were awarded a pen it would've had to be a yellow for Cochrane, as the double jeopardy rule meant you couldn't get a pen and a red card awarded in that instance.

Re: Other Premiership Games
Hibs not able to make use of their one man advantage, and the game ends 1-1, with Hearts remaining in 4th place.
So
Aberdeen 3rd.
Hearts 4th.
Hibs 5th.
St Mirren 6th.
Just need ICT to win the Scottish cup now so Hibs wont get a European place. Mon the Caley

Re: Other Premiership Games
Ross County started well, were taking the game to Celtic, then a clumsy challenge in the box gives the champs a pen (and it was a pen) which Turnbull scores and then Kyogo scores (of course) to make it 2-0 and from struggling to get a grip of the game Celtic are now cruising… make it 3-0.

Dundee v County tonight for their rearranged game, fingers crossed for a draw, keeping both of them below us still.

Went in 0-0 at HT in a turgid game, lets hope it stays that score.

Re: Other Premiership Games
Only 1 point separates 4th from 7th, and only 3pts separating 4th from 11th, 8/9 games in and it's crazy tight.

Re: Other Premiership Games
Just an observation after watching the Rangers/Hearts game today. Re Rangers 2nd penalty I am bemused by something that seems to defy science. How does tugging the back of a player's jersey cause him to fall forward as happened today.

Re: Other Premiership Games
He's getting his shirt pulled so he throws himself forward and falls to the ground to get the penalty. Haaland did the exact same thing when being held in a game against Man Utd today, and also in the Norway game against Scotland when Porteous was holding him.

Re: Other Premiership Games
While this kind of cheating is accepted then I guess the only solution is to stop tugging shirts.

Re: Other Premiership Games
If only Nouble got a foul for each time he was having his shirt pulled, or being held by the arm. Bruce too gets bearhugged by a towering CB, to stop him winning the ball, but that's acceptable, apparently.

Re: Other Premiership Games
There is a simple explanation to Orco’s question.
When the shirt is being pulled the player in that shirt is trying to move forwards, if he is doing that with more force than the amount exerted by the guy pulling him back, once that backwards pull stops the player having his shirt pulled is now released and falls forwards. For a player moving forward to be pulled backwards the pulling force must exceed the force of his forward momentum.

Re: Other Premiership Games
Nah, he was going for the pen by taking a dive forward when he felt his shirt being pulled. Only way he's going to go down having his shirt pulled and not take a dive is if the guy suddenly lets go of his shirt as he puts extra force resisting the shirt pull, but that's not what happened. Haaland did the same thing, was being held so just threw himself forward to go down onto the deck.

Re: Other Premiership Games
I don’t necessarily disagree, my answer was purely to do with physics. We always assume a pull of the shirt should make the player come backwards but that is simply not the case unless the pull back force exceeds the force of the forward motion.

Currently St J 2 Motherwell 0; we are bottom as things stand having played more games than anyone else that matters.

2-2 now… upside we’re back up to 11th, downside Motherwell are now 2 points ahead of us

Re: Other Premiership Games
Best outcome for us. They each drop 2 points and from a psychological point of view we are not at the bottom of the league.

Re: Other Premiership Games
St Mirren doing to Hibs what they did to us, with a late goal to share the pts. Would've preferred a St Mirren win but considering they were behind a draw is a good result for us.

Re: Other Premiership Games
And County pick up a win with their new manager, beating St Mirren 1-0 tonight. We really need to beat them on Saturday or they could move 7pts above us, moving out of our reach. Need to end this run of defeats because the likes of St Johnstone and Motherwell will pick up the odd win or draw, leaving us behind and rooted to the bottom.
