Re: Other Premiership Games
Was impressed by United. As you say they fought like we used too and thoughrally deserved their win.As an aforthought when the big teams are not on their respective games others have to take advantage.Take note Livi..

Re: Other Premiership Games
They are always there for the taking early season though; over the season they will still be the top two, sadly.

Yes, I hope we start working hard and using our pressing game again. It has been the hallmark of our success in recent seasons. I am cutting them some slack since there have been so many disruptions due to Covid and sickness. Hopefully the guys will be well recovered soon and back to our normal game.

Re: Other Premiership Games
Yeh,agree Orco. Its gonna take time for the team to resemble what we're looking for.Probably a couple of months,by which time we could find ourselves with a mountain to climb to retain our status. On the other hand,a 14 game unbeaten run should hopefully ease those silly concerns. Sorry.x..

Re: Other Premiership Games
Looks like Celtic have already got their act together, 6 goals against Dundee and a 3-0 win tonight in their European game.

Re: Other Premiership Games
Arbroath 1-0 St Johnstone HT. Going well for our on loan players playing in this cup.
Would be brilliant to get either Raith or Arbroath (if they get through) at home in the quarters, would feel a bit sorry for Arbroath though, as Nouble and Clark wouldn't be allowed to play against us, and they're big players for them, so would severely weaken them. Poplatnik for Raith isn't as important for them though, and wouldn't be as big a miss, so happy to play Raith, at the TMA.

St Johnstone equalised and looking the more likely to go through now, Arbroath still in it at 1-1 though, and heading for ET. Mon the Lichties.

Re: Other Premiership Games
St Midden getting a very good result for them doesn’t help us any. Lewis played well against us but made a bit of a howler for the winner.
United getting a draw at Celtic doesn’t augur well for our game against them, they are a hard side to beat this season.

Yeh,the pressure on us is being ramped up.Didnt go well for us yesterday as you said.We can make all the excuses we want.Bottom line for me is our lack of offense, its hurt us no doubt. Can only hope we start getting those players back ASAP,God knows we need them. Not panic stations just yet, but we're in a rut and only we can get ourselves out of this without relying on others imo.

Re: Other Premiership Games
Way i see it is St Johnstone & St Mirren* are in a group above us, Dundee & Ross County are in the dogfight down the bottom, we're bang in the middle and could go either way, depending on our results in the next 3 games which way we go, away and up into the group above with St Johnstone & St Mirren (poss Aberdeen too), or drop down into a bottom 3 relegation dog fight.
Big 2 games for us are St Mirren @ home (this weekend) & Ross County away (in 3 weeks), a draw against St Mirren and a win against Ross County would do, or even the other way around, really can't afford to lose against either of them. 2 wins would move us right away and put a whole new complexion on matters.
*Aberdeen could be in that group too, they aren't looking too clever this season, and i think them and Motherwell have swapped place, Aberdeen looking like dropping to a bottom 6 team this season and Motherwell moving up to top 6, challenging for a top 4 spot.

Re: Other Premiership Games
After today’s results, it’s a 3-way dog fight & failure to get something in Dingwall is a distinct possibility.

Re: Other Premiership Games
Yep, mustn't lose game against County, just to stay above them, but really need to be winning it and getting some distance between them and us, a defeat is unthinkable, just mustn't happen.
We're fortunate Dundee and County are struggling down the bottom too at this point, but if we stay there i can see Dundee improving a bit when Adams comes back from injury, so we could do with getting some points on the board to take advantage of them missing him. Same could be the case for us with the likes of Sibbald right enough, and a few others out injured.

Re: Other Premiership Games
I think Aberdeen and St Mirren are complete mince and it would be funny if either went down, esp Aberdeen/Aberdoon, but not convinced St Johnstone can win 2 or 3 games to get above them.
I mean if they couldn't even beat a dugshit Dundee, that was their big chance to put serious pressure on the other two. Still, they've got head to heads against both. They absolutely need to beat St Mirren next week, and hope Dundee get at least a draw against the sheep.

Re: Other Premiership Games
Good comeback by 10 man Killie to draw 2-2 with Motherwell. Keeps Well from closing the gap on us to 3pts, we're 5pts ahead of them with a game in hand.
County losing 1-0 to Sevco keeps them 8pts adrift in the bottom 2, and we've 2 games in hand on them. Just need to win our games against Hibs and Utd though to push on even more.

County getting an equaliser against Hibs and Nisbet going off injured early in the game, all good for us.

Surprised County’s goal was allowed to stand but it’s a good result for us.

Win the game in hand and we are only 4 points behind Hearts…unfortunately we don’t play that game for a while and the picture could change dramatically between now and then.

Re: Other Premiership Games
Including ours, this is some set of fixtures, every one of them has significant importance 3 of them are against their closest rival in the league, and the 4th is still near enough for the outcome to have a huge bearing on their season.
You've got the 2 bottom teams playing one another, 9th v 10th, 7th v 6th, and with just 6pts separating them 8th v 5th.
With Hibs and Hearts not playing this is also a chance for us to go back into 4th place, and close the gap on Hearts to 4pts.

Re: Other Premiership Games
Just sticking this in here rather than starting a new thread for the last couple of rounds of the Scottish Cup.
Semi's so far are ICT, Celtic & Sevco, just Falkirk v Ayr to go for th 4th team.
What's the betting it wont be Celtic v Sevco as one of the semi's. Would be great for the other 2 teams if it was though, so one of them made the final, unreal that Inverness are through again after being put out by QP (then put through due to an admin error by QP), slim chance of them going any further unless they get the winner of Falkirk v Ayr, but how mad would it be if they managed to do it again and knocked out one of the erse cheeks.

Re: Other Premiership Games
Having to eat my words there, Celtic v Sevco & Falkirk v ICT in the semi final draw.
ICT will be favourites to get to the final now, incredible.
It'll make the final watchable now too, i wouldn't have had any interest in it if it was both erse cheeks, mon the diddy teams.
