It's easy enough to say but Burchill appears to be in the right mind set for this and from experience, it appears he is good at translating his message across to the players.
Based on the defensive problems for Peterhead, I'll say 0-1 us. FG 76 mins.

Surely with the quality we possess and the bit of form weve hit recently we should be queitly opptomistic about a result in this game.Although i agree with some of the boys it may take getting them back to the vale for a replay.they are really up for this if you go by what there saying on there own fans forum despite what Mcannally is saying about a shortage of players.Beware Livi could be a potential banana skin for us.Just do it.

It's not the first time a manager has talked about his team being weakened just before a game to try to make the other team complacent. Hopefully Burchill will ignore this stuff.

Brilliant result, even more comfortable than I thought it would be, well done Burchill and the team.

We started off very well and scored a couple of good goals early on. Peterhead worked hard and were no slouches but we did look a division above them. It might have been three before half time if the ref hadn't ignored a clear penalty when Jordan White was pulled back going for a high ball in the penalty area. It was enjoyable stuff to watch.
The second half was a duller affair where we allowed the opposition to come into the game. It was pleasing that we got a third but Peterhead did deserve to score if just for the effort they put in. It was the unfortunate Hyppolyte who needlessly gave away the penalty.
The defence was solid again. It was a shame that Buchanan didn't get a goal because he was instrumental in at least two of ours. I really like him as a striker. He chases lost causes and has a good football brain.
So, into the next round. It would be nice to get a home tie for a wee change.

Who comes into the next round?
I'd gladly take Hearts on at home if they're in it, went to the Well v Hearts game yesterday and Hearts were shite, all lumping it up the park stuff from them. Pity Motherwell's defence let them down or they'd have won it easily, instead it finished 2-2 with Hearts scoring a 25 yard equaliser because they weren't closed down (just like us earlier in the season).
Utd would also be a good draw, they can't buy a win.

Everybody comes into the next round so we have all the winners from this round plus the SPL teams and those who finished in the top 4 of last years Championship.

Good to see we kept both Buchanan and White on when Sheerin came on, I've been bursting to see those 3 starting a game together too.

Fair play to Burchill for showing bottle and making a couple of changes from the Rangers game. Could easily have stuck with the same team and formation but dropped Sheerin and Hippolyte to bring in Glen and Buchanan for 3-5-2 and clearly worked.

I read a report where McInally used this as the excuse for losing to us, here's his quote:
Speaking after the game, Blue Toon boss Jim McInally said: “What killed us, as I feared it would, was missing four defenders.
Read more: http://www.buchanobserver.co.uk/sport/local-sport/depleted-blue-toon-blitzed-by-livingston-1-3962533#ixzz3t1AQdQJX
And the article also making a big deal of it:
Any chance of a shock were made even more unlikely with the absence of four defenders. Cammy Kerr, Ally Gilchrist and Jassem Sukar were all denied permission by their parent club to play although bizarrely, Dundee United allowed Mark McCallum to take his place in goal for Livi while Sukar had to sit in the stand.
Scott Ross was out injured adding to their woes.
I checked their team against Cowden for their 7-0 win against the one they fielded against us and Ross was the only defender not playing, and he got injured in that game. So their other 3 defenders quoted in that article didn't start against Cowden. So much for them having 4 defenders missing against us, they only actually had 1 missing. The only player not in their starting line up from their 7-0 Cowden win, that started against us, was Riley, every other player had played last week too.

Not surprised, Jim McInally is a self confessed twat. Absolute failure in the art of management in Scottish football.

Good finish by Glen, wonder why he can't do that more often!
Loving Buchanan's work setting up goals, his set up for Sheerin against Hibs and that one there for White's first goal was superb, lovely finish by White too.
Hippo shouldn't be allowed to make tackles inside our box, he does that kind of tackle all the time. He's good at robbing the ball off players but not so good when he sticks his leg out like that.
