Peterhead just went 3-2 up against Alloa so Stenny needs to win against Brechin now or they're relegated. It is all change from one minute to the next in the last league game of the season, exciting stuff.

Given they won after playing 86 mins with 10 men he'll probably praise them for showing the fight they should have shown last week.

I think they will beat Brechin but might have a fight on their hands with Alloa or Airdrie

Yaeh as shite as Airdrie are, the goal scoring form Ryan is on they could very well beat Alloa, who themselves haven't been great recently. This play off final will be won by the team that is the least shite rather than being best because Brechin and Raith are pretty keek tae..

Brechin just scored with a penalty, was quite funny watching it on a live feed from the Raith end, their fans were going mental claiming the Brechin player cheated.   Mon Brechin.

Would rather Alloa or Airdrie come up, they're closer than Brechin. Airdrie could run out of steam in the final though, reading through their match thread it looks like they aren't using their subs until very late on and are reliant on their starting eleven. Some of their players looked knackered around the 65th minute but their manager didn't use a sub till 86 mins (taking off Beany) and then Ryan on the 90th min, that should give Alloa an advantage in the 2nd leg.

Alloa on the other hand have now lost 2 in a row... Have they already run out of steam?

I think their last defeat was with them putting out a fringe team, still think they'll get through in the 2nd leg though and Airdrie will tire in the 2nd half.

Oh and what are the odds wee Bobby missed his pen as a parting gift to Hughes.   Wouldn't mind us signing him up for next season, Barr, Mullin and Cadden on the wings, with one coming on as a 2nd half sub would run defenders ragged.

Hughes has left the building. Can go back to playing golf and enthralling all his golf buddies with tales of how good he was, using salt and pepper cellars to demonstrate his tactical nous.

Reading Pie and Bovril and a Raith fan said Hughes went into the dressing room and told the players they were all pish and could go find another club. One of the players said what about all your feck ups then and it all kicked off. Then Hughes was told it was him that was going and the players would be called into a meeting on Tues to discuss their future.

Just as funny is a tersely worded brief statement on RRFC's official web site which simply states they have parted company with the manager & his assistant. No word of thanks or best wishes. Maybe that will come later but the clear implication is that the ownership holds him responsible.
