Re: Championship Play Offs
That was dire, I actually dozed off watching the first half it was so boring. Just like their first match against Airdrie away Alloa weren't at the races, still think they will come up with us though and will win their home leg. Either way we will have a safety net (should we need it, which we wont ) cause there is no way either of them will be above us next season.

Apparently it was scored by Kieron Gibbons as well. Into ET now.
Forfar battering Peterheid, with Danny Denholm on the score sheet

Gutting for East Kilbride, jammy Cowden surviving by the skin of their teeth.
Hamilton v Dundee Utd for the Premiership play off final. Good chance of Utd going up, Accies are rank and I wouldn't pay too much attention to todays result, both Motherwell and Dundee would've won if they'd needed to.

Re: Championship Play Offs
Was keen on Cowden making it three in a row, but given EK's billy big baws attitude the past few weeks in the press, I'm quite happy they're staying down. Central Park is still a tip, though.
Watched the Falkirk - Dundee Utd game last night, and despite their win United weren't impressive. It'll be a total shitfest between them and Hamilton this coming week. Falkirk finished second on merit but went to pieces in that second half when they should have kicked on and put the inferior team out of it. I think Houston will leave them and it looks like we won't be seeing Hippolyte next season, either - apparently off to Partick.
Peterhead pumped out of League 1 7-2 on aggregate to Forfar. Doubtful that Forfar should have even been in the play-offs given they lead the lead for nearly all of the season, only for the arse to fall out of them in the last few months. Credit to Bollan for turning it around, a very difficult thing to do, and good to see an awful football team like Peterhead dumped down a league.
Brechin vs Alloa in 15 minutes, hoping for a Brechin win personally but can see Alloa sneaking it. The bastards.
ETA: Just read there that Cowden missed their last six penalties in the run up to today. Despatched all five today in the shootout. Football's a funny old game.

Re: Championship Play Offs
Can't believe one of Alloa or Brechin weren't asked to change kit, colours are similar on TV especially with both having black shorts.
Hoppy appears to be the Alba guest for pitch side analysis, at least he was before kick off.
Seems to rate Andy Jackson as the best hold up player in third tier... Possible signing target?
Hippo is going to Partick???? Really??? I didn't think he'd impressed anyone that much since going to Falkirk
Just saw Paul Hartley in the Alloa stand as a guest of the club. Really has porked out since he stopped playing.

Lovely finish. Alloa have a lot of work to do now.
Well there's a penalty, good start to their comeback.

If that is the best goalie in third tier football.... Should never have conceded that goal

Liam Watt with a lovely chip there, 3-3, Brechin 4-3 up on aggregate.
Good game this.

Re: Championship Play Offs
Greg Spence looked useless against us so many times but he clearly knows how to get the ball in the net.
This one could go either way but both teams are pretty poor... It's entertaining though.
And that was another decent finish from Watt.
I can't get this post posted cause they keep scoring, cracking header

Interesting to hear Hoppy thinking (as I do) that Spence doesn't do much but can score for fun and now tipping him to possibly get a winner

Brechin take it 5-4 on penalties!
Really enjoyed that game, made up for the first leg anyway.

Re: Championship Play Offs
Some result for Brechin, really didn't think they'd beat Alloa but they deserved it on the effort they put in and also getting past Raith on penalties too. Pleased for Liam Watt as well, cracking goals against Raith and Alloa.
Had a feeling Spence was missing his penalty, despite scoring a hattrick he missed a few one on ones too and was a bit casual in his run up.

Re: Championship Play Offs
Looking at the promoted teams this season, it's been a good year for the East on the whole...
Peterhead & Raith prevented it being all good but we have the following East based sides going up:
Hibs
Livi (we are closer to Edinburgh than Glasgow)
Brechin
Arbroath
Forfar
Dundee United stand a good chance of adding to that list & Cowdenbeath stayed up. If United do go up that will be 4 teams from the Tayside/Angus area.
Looking at the make up of the third tier next season; Raith, Ayr, Alloa, Airdrie, East Fife, Queens Park, Albion, Stranraer, Arbroath & Forfar. That could be a tough division to get out of, I'm glad we got out this season.

Hilarious that Spence was the first to miss, I also fancied him to fail but it was based on the look on his face as he walked up to present himself as the next kicker. He looked petrified.
