Re: 2017/18 Ins and Outs Thread
Kinda get the feeling that Buchs is playing the waiting game to see if any decent offers come through the door which of course is his right to do so.Nevertheless i feel your anguish guys but i seriously cant see him leaving for any of the affore mentioned teams above. Not sure but possibly the none backing at the recent POTY may be playing on his mind a wee bit.I sincerely hope that im wrong on this one as i feel he still has it in his locker to perform and bang in goals for at least another couple of seasons.Cmon Liam ,put us out of our misery!!!

Only a pre-contract agreement.... Hopefully he's not inspired by Calum Ellidiot
He scored the winner against us on Dec 31st

Re: 2017/18 Ins and Outs Thread
Can't say I remember what he was like, fits the general profile of recent signings though so hopefully he'll work out as well as Pittman, Byrne and Miller.
I think the best RB in this division was prob QP's, but we signed him and let him go a couple of seasons ago, Ross Millen.
We were trying to sign a Peterhead player in Jan too, Brown, wonder if we'll have another go once their play offs are done.

Don't think he played in either game that QP played here though. He wasn't up to much when we had him. Got a nose bleed if he crossed the half way line & couldn't pass or tackle.

Yeah didn't make it at Livi but he's been a success at QP, maybe League One is his level. I'd still like us to have a go at signing Ayr's RB, voted into the Championship's team of the year and has shown he can play at that level.

Ross Brown also signed on a PCA from EF. They're the new Airdrie.

That'll teach the aunts for beating us 4 times, we're just taking their best players from them. I wonder if we'll go for their keeper next.

So by these PCA's can we infer that at least 2 of Jacobs, Miller & Millar are possibly about to depart?

I'd assume it'll be Sinclair and Millar on the way out. Possibly Knox if we get a good enough offer.

Re: 2017/18 Ins and Outs Thread
Slightly concerned we're stacked with central midfielders, I'm hoping Sinclair and Millar are the ones making way. Robinson sounds like a good signing, was impressed with him when we played EF away on Hogmanay. Can't really say much about Brown as he never really stood out to me, judging by what EF fans are saying he was a brilliant work ethic and attitude but they're surprised he's stepping up to the Championship.
The sooner Buchanan is signed up, the better.

Brown might be playing at RB, he played there at EF, although they reckoned he was better in midfield.

Surprised at that, but happy about it. Hope he gets a chance to show his worth, was really coming on to a game before he got punted to Cowden.

Interesting, he's a good 6 yard poacher so hopefully he will stay injury free and get a decent run at it to score a few goals for us.

Actually I think he asked to be loaned out once Toderov arrived so that he could get more first team experience. Its important to remember he's only a year older than Danny Mullen and this will be a critical time in his career. Happy to see him back by the way; never gave less than 100% for us.
Sad to see that it seems Morgyn Neill has left the club but I suppose its understandable, with Halkett and Gallagher confirmed, plus I thought Lithgow showed definite signs of improvement towards the end of the season and should be able to hold his own in the Championship.
Incidentally I wonder if, now Raith are down, we will look at potentially bringing Craig Barr back. He put in a reasonable stint as a right back in his early days and he wasn't as much of an a##e to us as Watson after leaving the club. That being said would he actually be any better than Crighton now?

Re: 2017/18 Ins and Outs Thread
Mango even scored an og for us in a game against Raith. Don't think we need him back though, i'd rather see JGT being signed. And us getting in a proper RB too.
Wouldn't mind getting the other Barr from Raith, him and Cadden up the wings would make for a deadly duo, they'd terrorise defenders with their direct play.

Re: 2017/18 Ins and Outs Thread
JGT has gone back to Spain to try for a club there, I believe.
Interestingly, I thought Lithgow deteriorated towards the end of the season, not enough for me to want rid but I thought he was less comfortable than he had been earlier on. Of course, the fact we conceded far fewer goals in the latter part of the season would be evidence against my view but I think that improvement was more down to Halkett & Gallagher developing into a formidable defensive duo.

Re: 2017/18 Ins and Outs Thread
So, Sinclair & Neill are both released, probably not a surprise given one was loaned out & better players in his position were already here & the other, though usually willing to put in the effort was a bit part player at best.
Kelly & Toddy go back from whence they came, again no real surprise, it would probably require transfer fees to acquire their services.
Maley has been offered a deal but, despite never having conceded a league goal, he is not the answer for next season. So a keeper has to be high on the priority list.

Re: 2017/18 Ins and Outs Thread
With regard to Lithgow I'm mindful that we only conceded 4 goals in our last nine games often with us only playing three at the back.
With regard to Bobby Barr I think Josh Mullin is a significantly better player. Barr could be an exciting player on his game but unfortunately that didn't happen often enough and his final ball is still pretty poor.
Shame Sinclair's gone; I though he showed promise but. as others have said, we have a number of players ahead of him so he probably would have struggled to get on the bench now.
Finally a word about the official site; its really nice to be getting some decent updates from the club now; in th past we've had to do this ourselves accompanied with a hefty dose of guesswork

Re: 2017/18 Ins and Outs Thread
Maley's purely being offered a deal because he's Martindale's mate. On the bright side he shouldn't be taking a high wage (unless he's getting the 'bestest buddies' treatment) and should only be a back up.
Bit surprised about Mark Millar though, didn't really stand out to me. Definitely gives us depth in the middle of the park though: Byrne, Pittman, Knox, Robinson, and Brown all signed up and deals offered to Jacobs, Miller and Millar.
No doubt Neill will get another club soon, Stranraer offered him a contract pretty sharpish and if their fans are to be believed he was brilliant for them so think he'll be in League 1 again next season, maybe even Airdrie taking a punt on him to replace one of their bombscare defenders. Didn't really see enough to Sinclair, looked good on the odd occasion he did play though and imagine he'll also get a League 1 team, or top end League 2 side.
Hoping Buchs signs up soon, wouldn't be surprised if a Championship team have offered him a contract and he's considering his options, someone like QoS might be in for him. Would obviously like to see him stay, him and Mullen have formed a good partnership and Dale Carrick can provide a bit of competition. Would like to see a target man signed too though for when we start lumping balls forward, would take Toddy back, doubt Hearts will be playing him in the first team so could be possible.

As much as I like Dale, I can't help but think he's the contingency plan for Buchanan not signing on. I agree with a lot of the thoughts on here regarding insurance and outs and would also like to congratulate the club on keeping the fans in the picture

Not convinced Mullen or Carrick will score the amount of goals Buchanan would, so if we aren't able to get Buchs signed back up we'd need someone like Andy Ryan to replace him.

Re: 2017/18 Ins and Outs Thread
The OS announcing Hoppy has agreed to stay on for another season, i'd like to bloody think so after signing up three quarters of our 2017/18 squad.
What a change from last season when we were all Hoping Hoppy would hop off. I take my hat off to him for proving us all wrong and well done to both Hoppy and the club for doing the unprecedented thing of having faith in his ability to get us back up and not take the usual route of just punting the manager. Really hope it works out well for him next season and we have the same manager 3 seasons running, and still there going into his 4th season.
That quiz LiviLion put up really shows what a crazy club Livi has been, the amount of managers we've had in such a short time.
