I didn't notice that, settle Livi, lets just be a bit more realistic and aim for the top 4 play offs, or at least 8th place and avoiding the bottom 2 spots.

Shoot for the moon and you might fall back to earth with a bump, shoot for the stars and you might make it to the moon.

Looks like we're going to be signing Mark Ridgers for next season. Decent keeper from what I remember.

Retweeted that himself, could just mean he's on the wind up or there's actually truth to it. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough anyway, maybe when his contract with Partick is officially up.

Going to be in Devon most of this summer and missing the first few weeks of the season too, was hoping we could get an away friendly to Exeter or Plymouth, even Torquay would do. Make it happen Livi, the demand is there

Hopkin confirms on BBC Alba that Buchanan has been offered a contract for next season alongside a coaching role with the U20s. Surprised we've offered him a coaching role, but I think it's a cracking idea given the experience he possesses. I wouldn't be surprised if he does move on, though.

Calum Fordyce released by Dunfermline, chances of us offering him a deal?

Yep Neill has signed for Stranraer. At least he's finally found a club that will give him a regular start, he's not had much luck getting his playing career going.LiviLion wrote:
No doubt Neill will get another club soon, Stranraer offered him a contract pretty sharpish and if their fans are to be believed he was brilliant for them so think he'll be in League 1 again next season, maybe even Airdrie taking a punt on him to replace one of their bombscare defenders. Didn't really see enough to Sinclair, looked good on the odd occasion he did play though and imagine he'll also get a League 1 team, or top end League 2 side.

I liked the look of Neill when he first came to us but he seemed to go backwards with more game time.
Then he'd get the odd game as cover & do okay again.
He is still young & could develop into a decent player but needs to add consistency.

He's young and maybe he still has to develop a football brain. I just know that whenever I watched him he often ran about like a headless chicken. In saying that I wish him well and hope things work out for him because he came across as a nice guy

Can cross Dycey of the list, he's just signed for QoS.

Dylan Bikey released by Hearts, reckon we'll be back in for him since we never managed to get him in Jan.
Still hoping that Buchanan signs a new deal in the next couple of weeks, hopefully Miller/ Millar as well.

Dylan Bikey would cost more than we'd be willing to pay I'd imagine, the reason he only signed amateur with Hearts.
Maley and Jacobs sign for another year, Keaghan's has a clause for another year which would see him getting a testimonial game too.

Re: 2017/18 Ins and Outs Thread
Why would he cost more than we can afford? He's just been released by the Premiership side with probably the worst record in Scotland over the last couple of months and was only an amateur by your account.
He will be lucky if anyone wants him based on that.
Delighted that Keags has been given a deal

Re: 2017/18 Ins and Outs Thread
Can remember reading his contract was owned by a 3rd party and anyone signing him up would have to pay so many thousands of pounds, Stirling signed him on an amateur contract to get around it, and LL is saying Hearts did the same. Can remember Tevez was under the same kind of thing at Man Utd, part of his contract was owned by a 3rd party.
Good news about Keaghan, we're well covered in midfield with quality players. Not sure I agree with Hoppy on Maley though, he was a good shot stopper and made some cracking saves but he was a bit harum scarum when it came to crosses into our box and flapped at them, his punches weren't great either, and neither was his kicks. I'd be worried if we didn't get a better 1st choice keeper in.

Whoever it was he played for in France would be due a fee by whoever signs him on a professional contract. Not sure exactly how much but somewhere over 40k, not sure we'd hand over that cash for someone we don't know much about. Sure he said something about going home, so most likely heading back to France anyway.
Unless we can shift all those shares to give Hoppy about £3.8m(?) to play with, in which case I'd hope we'd be signing better players anyway

Re: 2017/18 Ins and Outs Thread
On Maley... Hopkin's comments clearly state Maley is the back-up keeper to whoever they bring in. It will be interesting to see who that is.
On Bikey... I didn't realise he was such a "hot property"; as was said he seems to be relatively unknown & couldn't make an impact in a struggling Hearts side that was so lacking in confidence & cohesion over the last part of the season that we would have stood a decent chance against them. So his agent could turn out to be his worst enemy when looking for a club. Surely though, if the French side have released him then no fee would be involved?

Re: 2017/18 Ins and Outs Thread
Slow news days for a while, imagine that'll change when the window officially opens.
What would people think of us signing Bob McHugh? Not a top Championship striker but think he'd be more than good enough for a team aiming for the top half.
