Re: The ex-Lions thread
Griffiths scoring for fun at Celtic. Fastest Celtic player to notch up 50 goals, seems Deila is getting all the credit for moulding him into this prolific striker and he has really improved on his aerial ability. What a load of cobblers, Griffiths was always a goal machine and has always been good in the air at scoring goals, scored many a goal at Livi with his head, scored for fun with Hibs in the SPL/Premiership.
It's just these lazy brain dead fecks are only noticing it now he's been given the chance at Celtic to do what he's always been good at. Convinced he's taken a dump in Strachan's kettle too, or he'd be getting a chance for Scotland too.

I used to go to some of the youth games when Griffiths was a youngster and it was obvious even then that he had something special. He has done the business wherever he has gone.
I bet if he had been here when Hughes was the manager though he would have been punted in the same way that Bobby Barr was for backchat.

McNulty getting positive mentions on Soccer Saturday in the Cup Tie against Bournemouth with Pompey leading in that one and Marc assisted on it.
Bournemouth got thru in the end.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Not sure if we can count Jacob Esposito as an "ex Lion" but played in Aidrie U 20's to get match fit the other night and scored two goals. Described as being "jet paced" just what we are missing!

Re: The ex-Lions thread
No doubt he will turn into a cracking player and we'll have missed out on him.
I realise it was only u20 level but scoring twice when you are not fully fit isn't too shabby

Re: The ex-Lions thread
We've hopefully got a quick player down the wing with our new signing Josh Mullin. Hopkin obv rates him better than Esposito, and from what I've seen of his signings so far he's been pretty good at judging a player.

Excellent comeback after being 2-0 down. Hippo loves a goal against Sevco.

Just a pity that Hubs bottled it against them & they are so far ahead.

It might mean a bumper potential title-clinching crowd at Almondvale, which is definitely a good thing.
Hippolyte looked really up for it again and when he is up for it, he's probably one of the best at this level. Definitely didn't merit the derision from our fans.

Absolutely agree on Hippo. With proper management he could be outstanding at this level and capable of going higher.
Would hate them clinching it against us but would love putting the bubbly on ice for another day.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Good luck to Scougs, clearly capable as he showed in his early Blades career but for some reason Adkins doesn't rate him and didn't rate McNulty either despite the lad being top scorer the year before

Re: The ex-Lions thread
I'm more of the opinion that I was wanting all the teams we've still to play to have nothing to play for, so Sevco being mathematically champions, Raith having 4th place sewn up and QoS not being able to get 4th place would be better for us than a bumper crowd with things still to play for. Oh and Alloa's morale being rock bottom knowing they were def going down would be good too.
We've got a game against Falkirk who look like being 2nd and they will be on a high after their Sevco win so can't see us getting anything from that, but hopefully when we play Hibs they realize Falkirk are too far away from them, so are settling for 3rd place.
Saying that, it would be fecking hilarious if the arse fell right out of QoS and they spiral right down to 9th place and our game against them is the one to put them in the play offs, not sure my nerves would take it though if that was the game that got us above them.
On Scougs, strange one as the fans were thrilled with his signing when they first saw him play, both him and Sparky have dropped right out of the team now though so hopefully they both get signed up by another team tha gives them games.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
I see Hughes has chucked it at Caley before he takes them down. Citing budget constraints as the reason but they've been on a gradual decline under him.
He's done them a favour, they'd prob have been in a relegation/play off scrap next season and he isn't the man to keep them up in that situation.

Has he? Strange to walk away when keeping them up this season was actually an achievement.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Wasn't that great an achievement with Utd in the state they were in and Killie long overdue coming down, hopefully. Reckon he's chucked it because he knows he'd struggle next season and doesn't want it on his CV. Can't play his Barca philosophy football unless he's got the players to do so and that's the only way he knows.
I see Liam Fox is tipped to be the next Cowden manager, if he does well there maybe he'll be the next Livi manager.

Got mixed feeling about this, wish him well but was hoping Cowden went bottom and dropped out of the SPFL.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Statement from Hearts suggests they expect to see him back in the future, must think highly of him, could end up being a good appointment for Cowden. Also a few rumours that he'll look to appoint Neil Hastings as his assistant.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Yeah they seem to be treating this as an on loan deal, he gains the experience at a lower league club and then returns to Hearts a much better coach. Jason Dair is his assistant.
A statement on the Hearts website read: "This arrangement is a win-win for both the clubs and for Liam. Cowdenbeath is gaining a new head coach and Liam will gain invaluable experience in the white heat of competition in Ladbrokes League 2.
"This will enable him to build on the experience and training gained at Hearts and it is being done with the stated intention of him returning to Hearts in the future."

Wes Hoolahan scores for Rep of Ireland at the Euros with a superb finish. Game ends 1-1
I liked wee Wes when he was with us but he used to get pelters; IMO he was a step above the rest of the team who simply couldn't see what he could see. He's proved over & over again with Blackpool, Norwich & his country that he is a fine player regardless of the feelings of many Livi fans.

Re: The ex-Lions thread
Can't remember much about him other than he seemed a bit lightweight at Livi. Has done well down South though and at international level.
