Re: World Cup 2022
Another surprising thing for me in this tournament is the number of teams still in with a chance of qualifying after 2 games (still a lot of 2nd matches to be played). Only France are definitely through and only Qatar are definitely out.

Yeh,as I speak. Two wordlies from Argentina put them back in the mix.In reality you want to see the, with respect dross go home. But agree, some of the lesser teams have a real chance of causing an upset here.Like watching Livi really..Mon the underdogs..

Re: World Cup 2022
England are as good as through, only way they'd be put out is if Wales gub them by 4 goals, which is highly unlikely. With Iran playing the USA only one of them can go above England, and only way Wales could get above them too is to overturn a 6 goal swing.
The USA v Iran game is tricky to call, i think America are the better team, but Iran will kick lumps out of them and try and shitfest a result. Saying that a draw in that game could see Wales go through in 2nd place with a 1 goal win over England.

Re: World Cup 2022
Costa Rica beating Japan has opened that group right up, if Germany could manage a win against Spain it would be 3pts all round after 2 games, couldn't happen could it?

Re: World Cup 2022
Good first half for Germany, almost went into the lead but their goal was called offside by a VAR review. Decent game just needs some goals.

Re: World Cup 2022
They don’t really need a favour. Spain need a point to be sure of qualifying the, selves as they are on four and if they lose to Japan and Costa Rica were to surprise Germany… that would be Spain and a Germany out with both “minnows” on 6 points.
If Spain and Japan draw Spain qualify & that would put Japan on 4 with a GD of 0 so Germany would qualify with a 2 goal win over Costa Rica. If Japan win then Germany need big win to overhaul Spain.
Even if Spain had won yesterday the Germans were still in a position to qualify but would have needed Spain to win against Japan.
Glad Canada finally scored a WC goal but I didn’t see the game and heard they didn’t play as well as they did against Belgium and Belgium were terrible against Morocco

Re: World Cup 2022
Yeah still a lot of permutations going on in a lot of the groups going into the last game. So far France are still the only team def going through to the next round.

That's Brazil through now too, after getting a late goal to finally break down the Swiss defence.

Re: World Cup 2022
Portugal make it 3 after a 2-0 win over a lacklustre Uruguay; that said the second Portugal goal was a ridiculous penalty decision, just when Uruguay were looking like they could equalise.

Re: World Cup 2022
VAR making a complete arse of itself ,again.Never a pen and shows it for what it is.Uruguy made Portugal look like world beaters, which their not.Expect England to win comfortably tonight against a plucky but just not good enough Welsh side.Suspect they'll be on the plane home by the end of the night, unfortunately. ????????????????????????.

Re: World Cup 2022
Dunno what game the bbc chief writer Phil McNulty was watching but it wasn't the same Wales v England game as me, with his 'England dominate Wales 3-0 in thrilling game'. First half would've struggled against watching paint dry in a what was the least boring competition, 2nd half saw England score 3 goals but Wales were just so bad it could've been 5 or 6, giving the ball away so often in their own half.
They pretty much went out the comp with a whimper.
Positive is English pundits just can't help themselves getting carried away again, let's see how the world beaters fair against a more attacking Senegal.

Re: World Cup 2022
Poland riding their luck here.Shocking tactics from their coach with Lewandowski isolated and no service whatsoever. Only one winner potentially unless they change their game plan.Least justice was done with the pen save after another shocking decision from VAR.Hopefully the Poles try to make a game of it,or their going home.

Re: World Cup 2022
Yep didn't take long for Argentina to open up the scoring in the 2nd half, 1-0 Argentina.
2-0 Mexico in the other group game. Poland still going through on GD unless Mexico or Argentina score another one.

Poland still going through on having less yellow cards, ffs that would be a shite way to go out for Mexico. Argies almost scoring another there, mon Argentina.

Belgium going home after another lacklustre performance.
