Re: World Cup 2022
Made a lot of changes 2nd half, including replacing Alisson for their 3rd choice keeper, to give him a WC game. No point going all out for a slaughter when the game was won in the first half, need to pace themselves for the next game.

Comfortable win in the end for the tournament favourites.Time to recover and go again. Still feel there's more in the tank to come from them.We all know what they can do when they turn it on..

My money is still on France, would be a good final France v Brazil, haven't checked if they can avoid one another in the semi's.

Re: World Cup 2022
Yeh,agree mate. They can both negotiate their respective paths to the final as their on opposite sides of the draw.Dont want to get ahead of myself but definitely would be mouthwatering. Brazil could eventually come up against Argentina in the semis.France could get Spain or Portugal if they dispose of that other team who's name escapes me .No doubt someone will put a spanner in the works..

Brazil v France is a possible final (which also makes {insert spanner} Brazil v England possible)
Brazil v Argentina is a possible semi final
It’s basically this for the semis
Brazil or Croatia v Argentina or Netherlands
France or England v Morocco or Spain or Portugal or Switzerland

Re: World Cup 2022
Brazil v Argentina would be some game too, wouldn't like to call that one to put money on it.
Netherlands is a bit like England, don't think they're on the same level as the France, Spain, Brazil or Argentina teams, however they stuck 3 past the USA, something England couldn't do. Croatia are past their best, not sure what to make of Portugal, surprised they've made it this far, Switzerland have been a surprise too, steady progress and could be the dark horses.

Scratch that about Switzerland, getting cuffed 2-0 by Portugal, stunning first goal by Ramos.

Re: World Cup 2022
Portugal doing a Brazil and scudding their opponents 4-1, could and should be more goals coming, Ronaldo still sitting on the bench too, he'll be going in a huff again.

Re: World Cup 2022
So 6 1 it ended up.Impressive display from the Portuguese, albeit against a decidedly poor Swiss team. Not too worried about them tbh.Should beat the Moroccans but then we thought it would be Spain in the quarters.France or Engerlund await them should they get through and I fear their journey will end.But what do I know..

Re: World Cup 2022
Brazil OOT.
Croatia are shit hot at pens, deserved it too getting an equaliser when it looked like Brazil had it in the bag.
France and Argentina are the best two teams left, France are still my bet for winning it.

Like us against Motherwell going into the split, throwing away a 2-0 lead.

Re: World Cup 2022
No upset this time, Argentina winning the pen shoot out.
Quite dramatic though, Netherlands missing their first 2 pens then taking it right to the death with Argentina needing to score their final one.
About 15 yellow cards handed out too.
