Scott Pittman and Craig Halkett have extended their contracts for another year.

Re: Transfer Rumours, Players In/Out
Good news that we're indentifying players we want for next season and getting them tied down, it'll be a lot better than the shambles we had this season with only 5 players on a contract when pre season started.
Halkett looks a good signing too, has done alright in an area we've really been weak in.
I think if we can stay up this season we'll have a much better crack at competing in the Championship, and might even have a chance of competing for 4th place. Still a lot to do this season though but it would be great to have a season we're not scraping league survival.

Re: Transfer Rumours, Players In/Out
Halkett has looked a real find, definitely merits another season. Pittman needs to up his game again to start impressing me, he hasn't been the same this season.
The club and the players are obviously reasonably confident we'll stay up.

Re: Transfer Rumours, Players In/Out
I think Pittman has suffered from not having O'Brien behind him and from the long ball tactics that by-passed midfield altogether. When we were doing that the midfield needed to be further forward to support the front man/men but they were usually too deep bolstering the defence.

Re: Transfer Rumours, Players In/Out
Knox is at Murray Park training now.
Is that him just deciding to miss out on failing down south at a League 1 club and coming back up to sign for Sevco a la Halliday.

I've said it all along about Knox, he is being badly advised

Re: Transfer Rumours, Players In/Out
I dunno who his agent is or what the game is here, but that's one hell of a step down from going on trial at big guns down South, to going on trial at Sevco.

Snoddy was on trial at Barcelona & then got loaned out to Stirling so it means absolutely nothing

Thought that the Barca was interested in him story was all made up, don't think he was anywhere near Barca.

Point still holds, how much of what we are hearing is accurate, especially as he doesn't seem to be impressing anyone yet

Re: Transfer Rumours, Players In/Out
Well he's def been on trial down South, that much is accurate, and he's now on trial at Sevco, training at Murray Park, I've seen pictures of him there in Sevco training gear. The hype surrounding him is way OTT though, and what exactly we (the club) are looking for is not clear as I've read there was an offer made from Man U and Notts Forest.
Can't imagine Sevco would offer much, clubs down South have more money and i'd imagine players wages would be better down there too. If he's ambitious at all and has even a smidgen of talent he'd go down to England, both for furthering his career and finances. Coming back up here is a last resort to players who can't make it down there, certainly don't want to plump for Sevco when you have a chance of a team in a far better league..

Which is why I remain unconvinced that all we are hearing is accurate. From a purely club point of view, surely they would only reject an offer if it was derisory.
From a player point of view you would look for the best financial deal and the best development options and IMO down South would be light years ahead of going to Govan.

Knox signs a 2 and a half year contract extension. http://livingstonfc.co.uk/knox-signs-contract-extension/
Good to see the club is in talks with other players too, and are looking to get them to sign on long term. If we get a good core signed up now it'll give us a bit of continuity going into next season.

Daily Record is reporting here that Declan Gallagher is set to re-sign very soon.
No smoke without fire I think, but it's incredible that nobody at Livingston still has a modicum of knowledge about PR.

Re: Transfer Rumours, Players In/Out
Hope this is true, he'd absolutely stroll it in this league.
He's been training with Raith for a spell so should be reasonably fit, shouldn't take him long to get up to speed, he's two leagues above League One quality. He's comfortable on the ball to bring it out of defence which would make a huge difference to us in bringing it through the midfield instead of lumping it up the pitch.

Surprised Raith don't want him TBH.
Would certainly strengthen the squad, not sure which player would make way for him though.

Re: Transfer Rumours, Players In/Out
If we sign McMillan too then i'd stick Halkett in with Gallagher as our CB pairing, and we'd have a natural RB & LB. If not then it would be either Crighton or Lithgow partnering him, not really fussed which one.
I think Halkett and Gallagher would be a cracking CB partnership though, and both of them are comfortable on the ball bringing it out of defence. How good would it be to have a natural RB too, can't remember the last time we had one.

Re: Transfer Rumours, Players In/Out
McMillan?
Bigger concern for me right now is the lack of a signed quality keeper. Kelly is on loan & that ends after the Peterhead game. In all likelihood he will extend his stay but that still leaves us with only Maley as a signed keeper with any, albeit very limited, 1st team experience at the level we are playing. IMO getting a properly signed keeper should be priority number 1.
Followed by getting in a real RB.

^^^ this....Keeper is 100% our priority. If we can extend Kelly's loan then that's a start

Yeah remember he was meant to be signing for us, that would give us a natural RB that is actually good too. https://liviroom.forumotion.com/t399-jordan-mcmillan
Hopkin is working on keeping Kelly and all parties seem to be happy for him to stay till the end of the season, so hopefully we'll hear some news soon.

Re: Transfer Rumours, Players In/Out
Difficult one this and so frustrating reading various other foruns that this seems to have created an unwelcome division among the livi faithfull regarding Declans imminent return.Going on a purely football sense it seems that he may be coming back at just the right time as is evident by the recent defensive collapses weve had to endure recently. He is quality and the club have stood by him through all of this.Only Declan knows what happened that night and we may never be privvy to that information.I for one feel that everyone deserves a second chance to possibly intregate themselves back in to society and lead a decent honest life. Not everyone will agree with this of course and i fully understand the negativity that will be coming our way .We live in a democracy and im just glad that i have the opportunity to freely express my own views as opposed to to having to say what someone has told me to.Oh and a belated happy new year to you all!!!

Re: Transfer Rumours, Players In/Out
Aye our defence could do with someone as commanding as Dec in the centre of it, he's like a CB and holding midfielder rolled into one, which would give us someone we could rely on to bring the ball out of defence.

Re: Transfer Rumours, Players In/Out
Nae news on any of these signings yet?
Was quite excited about us signing big Dec, thought Raith would've been signing him with them letting him train there.
