Bertie can't find a Canadian connection, anyway, all these drink related puns are making me a bit Marvin, think i'll have some Jacobs crackers to tide me over till dinner time.

Re: Squad for 2019-2020
To be Franck, Lithgow to San Francisco, is about as close as I can get to Canada I think.
Did someone mention Dykes? I used to live in the Gilmerton Dykes area of Edinburgh as a lad. So I know a thing or two about dykes. I always liked the story of the wee boy preventing a flood by sticking his finger in a dyke.... back then I didn’t think anything of it.
But surely a pint of Miller would be in order before all the Scotts chasers with or without the Souda?
But not too much because with alcohol being a depressant you might get a touch of the Blues. And you don’t want to fall foul of the Lawson by behaving in a Lawless fashion. Might be better staying on the Aqua De Vita. As long as that doesn’t stick in your Crawford.
Of course we could try cloning Dolly, might as well be hanged for a sheep as well as a Lamie?
I think we should call a Holt to these proceedings.

According to the eagle eyed Mr Carson:
EDIT and strangely Wylde doesn't appear at all.
Livingston matchday programme includes Ibrahima Savane on the squad list (no.29). So they appear to have signed him.

Re: Squad for 2019-2020
Ibrahima Savane now confirmed on the official site:
https://livingstonfc.co.uk/another-new-signing-arrives/
Must admit, provided the guy can maintain the attacking form he displayed last Tuesday, I'm actually starting to feel a lot more optimistic.
Basically that means we could play him and Devlin as wing backs and still have three central defenders.
Now if only we could find a solution to our slow goal-scoring record.

Re: Squad for 2019-2020
Now that Dolly,s gone was interesting to hear Gary on STV tonight say that hes happy with the striking options that we have at our disposal so far.Sorry but i might be in a minority here.He was talking a about Robbo Tiffony etc. When the season starts proper i feel the goals scored by outfeild players will be less fruitfull than weve had in previous seasons and as such the need for an out and out striker grows even more as it gets closer as the new campaigne nears. Its not a dig at Gary or the club as weve managed to bring in some pretty decent signings whwich we are all greatfull for.Ijust hope we havent missed a trick here and get a player who will score goals and help us in what is going to be our toughest season yet imo.Sorry for the rant.Lol T.

Re: Squad for 2019-2020
Time will tell, Dykes looks like he'll get a few goals, maybe around what Halkett scored, and Souda could be a great signing for scoring goals too, Tiffoney could also chip in with a few, think him and Souda being rotated to play off Dykes. With the kinda balls Devlin puts in i'd expect Scotty to be getting on the end of a few too, same as he did when Mullin was with us.
Just have to wait and see how things go when the league starts.

Re: Squad for 2019-2020
I think we're no worse off than where we were last season for striking options particularly if Souda's confidence continues to grow. Not only has he scored a couple but the number of chances created has been pretty impressive - of course the real test will come against the likes of Motherwell (his preferred position of playing on the left will bring him into direct conflict with Gallagher).
Hardie for a few games at in the first half of last season was almost back to his Championship best but obviously that didn't last. Menga was great entertainment and did shake up a few teams but ultimately didn't score a lot.
Dykes and Cece will certainly offer that bit more height and bite that we started to miss towards the end of last season for Lithgow's long throws.
Hey - it could be worse - we could be in for Kyle Lafferty (that would certainly make the Aberdeen games more interesting).

Yeah but last season Halkett & Pittman chipped in with about 8 goals each too, we don’t have the former & we can’t expect Pittman to bag that many again, he might but we shouldn’t expect it.

But Lamie's already opened his account.

So has Souda and Dykes, between them they'll more than make up for Halkett's goals.

Big Henk offski to Morton for an undisclosed fee, and a sell on clause. Cameron Blues away there too, on a season long loan deal.

Think i read it was a "nominal Fee" which generally means all parties are to embarrassed to talk about it.

Yeah Livi has it as nominal, Morton's website has undisclosed. Good business to get anything considering he barely played for us.

Chaps please remember these were goals against sides we were expected to beat, the league is a different kettle of fish. All we can really say just now is that there are promising signs.

Re: Squad for 2019-2020
Jon Guthrie left sided CB/FB signed up, last played for Walsall, which is where we got Devlin.
Not seeing good comments from Walsall fans but he played 88 games for them so must've been rated by the managers, played 122 games for Crewe Alexander too. Said to be an Alan Lithgow type, no nonsense defender who doesn't take chances bringing the ball out of defence. I think Bartley fills that role for us anyway.

I saw a lot of negative comments about Devlin from Walsall fans, and he's been good so far. Opinions, bumholes etc.

Re: Squad for 2019-2020
New signing; Jack Stobbs on loan from Sheffield Wed, winger.
Has a bit of pace and very direct likes to run at defenders and get balls into the box. Looks like either a Gregg Wylde or Dolly Menga replacement. Only in Dolly's case he's not as selfish on the ball and looks to get it across to someone rather than just running and running till you lose it/get fouled.
Could be useful for setting up goals for Pittman, maybe even a Josh Mullin type player.

Did you ever wonder about the pictures last your that they were done by an Identikit - it looked like a different head was photo-shopped on to the same body.....
