Wylde got married in June which might account for him not making the training camp but was really surprised that he didn't at least make the bench on Saturday.

TBH I wasn’t particularly impressed with his fleeting appearances last season. What length of contract was he on? Was it only 6 months?

As far as I can recall his contract was an odd one; eighteen months or something like that although I'm probably mistaken.

    Edit - I'm not wrong:

Manager Gary Holt said: “Davie and I have been working hard to get Gregg in and I’m delighted we have managed to so.

“He has signed an 18 month contract and will wear the number 39 shirt.

“Gregg is a great addition to our squad and will give us options going forward. We think we can get him playing consistently at a good level week in week out. He has a great left foot and will bring a lot of experience to the squad and can play a few positions.

“Gregg will no doubt enhance our squad and help us all kick on for our push to finish as high as possible on the Ladbrokes Premiership.”.

So long as we're not talking "A Tale of Two Cities" with "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times"?

And they better keep their Little Dorrit out of sight, maybe getting David Copperfield to wrap it up in the Pickwick Papers until it’s time to sing a Christmas Carol?

Signed Aymen Souda for 2 years, striker.

Looking at his most recent stats, 26 years old and has scored 3 goals in his last 38 games,

    2017–2018 Pirin Blagoevgrad 21 (3)
    2018–2019 Dunărea Călărași 17 (0)

Just have to hope he can get a few more than that with us.

One thing that occurs to me; international clearance is almost a rubber stamp in the EU but outside it used to be that the player needed so many international caps under their belt etc. Fine for the super-rich teams; they can afford that kind of player but what about the rest of us come Brexit (assuming it does ever happen of course).

Mind you maybe the rules have changed again.

Thought Souda was very similar to Scott Robinson in playing style and skill level. Not absolutely sure what he brings to the table that we don't have already - still one thing he wasn't missing was enthusiasm. Got the feeling he'll always give 100%.

    And whilst we're at it:

    Hmmmm.... another midfielder?

Souda’s YouTube video shows him to be quite skilful but as LF has pointed out he’s not exactly known for making the net bulge.

Well communication shouldn't be a problem with four French speakers in the team already.

Need to dust of the old phrase book.... "where is the pen of my aunt"....

How about "do you know the way to the net?"

I liked Dolly's interview when he signed for us, was something along the lines of "I am here to score goals and help win games so the fans are happy and have lots of sex." lol!

Found this - actually it looks very similar to his performance on Tuesday night.

Loads of movement and some skill but kept showing too much of the ball the the opposition.

I suppose its possible; he wasn't there on Tuesday night - I know he was very active in the training camp and played in one of the friendlies but had assumed he had gone off to join Angola for their games in the African Cup of Nations although I couldn't see him in any of the games played.

That being said in view of the fact that they drew nil/nil with Mauritania; maybe he should have played.

That's a shame if true, for all he frustrates you, there was always that moment of magic like his goal against Hearts, and he did rough up opposition defenders. Hope he's still here for this season.

Never mind the goal against Hearts; what about the goal against Sevco? That will stay with me for a long time.

We know he was doing very well in the training camp and he also played in the Tranmere game, on July 6th, in which he scored but he was taken off injured after 35 minutes.

Cant help wondering if Tranmere Rovers chipped in with an offer; there's nothing on their website but I cant see us letting him go for nothing.

Incidentally, back on the subject of Cece, I had a look at the videos from the training camp and Cece's there sprinting around like mad and he didn't look overweight at all.

The guy on Tuesday seem bloated and off the pace; as someone cant really get unfit in a week (unless the week in question is a stag week to a Amsterdam or similar) I'm wondering if he came down with a stomach bug or similar. Maybe one of the boys took him for a deep fried haggis supper?

If our new forward plays alongside Robinson and Tiffony would we be serving up a double Scott and Souda?

    Aymen to that

Need to get as many out of the way before Bertie's back on line; he'll raise things to a new level although I'm slightly curious, and not a little worried, to find out how he will build Lyndon Dykes into it? Its the Devlin him.
