They were managing it fine when I was being picked up by Mrs LF in Lidl's carpark one time after a game against Sevco, and one of their fans was having a slash by his car.

Great news, Stevie Lawson signing an extension till the end of 2020/21 season, he was fantastic for us the second half of last season. All the rumours were of him not wanting to be here, so hopefully he now gets stuck in and back to how he was playing last season.

Now if only Dolly would come back in January, i'd be cock-a-hoop.

There are guys playing in the championship that would be assets to us but we probably can’t afford some of them but some of them should be here rather than on loan. Dorrans, Shankland, DeVita, Hamilton, Dobbie to name but 5

Dobbie is well out of our price range, plus he's settled in Dumfries with his family. Dorrans and Shankland are also more than we can afford, that's why Byrne went to Dundee, far more wages, it's the likes of Nesbit we should be looking at, young guy with talent for scoring in the lower leagues, who would prob jump at the chance to play in the Premiership, and if need be, willing to take a wage cut.

De Vita may not have the legs for a winger and don't know how he's doing after a bad injury, but i'd still have him back and play him as a striker when needed, or an impact sub. He has plenty of guile and a good shot on him.

Same goes for Hamilton, def need him back in Jan to boost our squad, we're down to the bare bones already this season, so the more the merrier afaic. Looks like his loan spell is starting to bare fruit too, and he;s getting plenty of game time at Queen's.

Also noticed a striker where Dolly has moved to scoring goals, Yano, wonder what kind of wages he's on, may be a cheaper option for us looking at that type of market.

I see Dykes is being touted to be heading to an English Championship club in Jan transfer window, just what we need, we're struggling for a striker and need to be getting one in to help Dykes out, so going to be bloody tough season if we sell him in Jan and are left with no strikers.

Wouldn't bother me if/when we return to the Championship, cheaper away games for a start, but i'd imagine the club would rather stay up in the Premiership for as long as possible considering the huge difference in prize money and away support income through the turnstyles. If we did sell Dykes it would be sensible to do what QotS did last season when we bought him, remain at Livi till the end of the season before making his move to whatever club buys him*. Otherwise we're going to struggle to stay up.

The only bottom 6 club we've lost to was without Dykes playing in that game, Accies away, that should tell the club everything in how important Dykes is in keeping us safe from relegation.

All speculation of course, but it makes me nervous seeing articles about several English Championship clubs wanting to sign him, and us being a selling club that doesn't stand in the way of letting our players go.

*That doesn't seem likely with the clubs being mentioned in need of a striker this season.

Just seen an article saying Lee Miller and David McCracken are set to join Falkirk as interim managers after McKinnon got sacked.

So at least this draws a line under Miller ever playing for us this season. But it makes the need for us to get a bloody striker signed all the more crucial, and makes the rumours of Dykes January departure all the more worrying. Only alternative seems to be us playing the 2nd half of the season with Robbo and Tiffoney up front. Shocked

Robbo & Tiffoney as a twosome might actually work, but either playing as a lone striker won’t

Dykes is a handful when he plays well but he’s no goal machine.

I’d like to thank Lee Miller for his contribution to our successful play-off promotion season. Worked his nadgers off after Hardie & De Vita were injured & belied his years to lead the line. Pity he was injured so much himself after that, glad he got a top tier goal for us though.

Just a shame he’s a Bairn at heart. I hope he does well quickly so that a bigger club comes in to take him away.

    Thanks Lee, great memories.

So far he's scored 11 in the Championship for Dunfermline, 9 in his last 5 games. We really missed a trick not looking at bringing him to Livi this season. Wonder if we'll even consider trying to get him in the Jan transfer window, esp if Dykes heads down South.

What's substantial for a Championship player in Scotland though. And if Dykes leaves we'll be getting a lot more than whatever Nesbit would cost.

I was looking at a thread on Nisbet on the dafc.net site. They are thinking Rangers will be looking at him and are suggesting a Megabucks transfer fee already.

Aye that'll be right, Hardie couldn't get a game with Sevco nae chance Nesbit would. Think dafc are treating themselves. If he went there he'd end up out on loan somewhere, maybe us. lol!

Be interesting to see who comes/ goes in this transfer window.

    Out
Stobbs - Believe he's back down south for treatment but his deal ends in Jan anyway
Pepe - Struggled with injury, wasn't impressed when he has played, but still in contract
Odoffin - Decent player but we're overloaded at RB now with Devlin/ McMillan/ Lawson - maybe send him away on loan?
Dykes - Hopefully not unless we get offered mega money, but rumours flying about that he could be away down south.
Tiffoney - Decent striker but still a bit to go before he's a Premiership player, would be good to get him out on loan to the Championship.

    In/ New Deals

The best bit of business we could do would be securing new deals for the likes of Lamie, Lithgow, Lawless, Sibbald.

Taylor-Sinclair is out of contract in Jan so think he's done enough for a new deal, and I suspect we'll be in the market for a couple of strikers (unless Hamilton returns from loan) - Dolly's deal wasn't signed off until after the transfer window closed, and Lee Miller left last month, so we should have wages freed up for 2 signings.

Raffa would be as well coming back to us for all the use his loan deal was, McCall isn't playing him. Not sure what he's like after his injury but he's a class player on the ball and i'd have him as an impact sub at least, still think he'd be a useful player to have. Same goes for Hammy, noticed he's not in the QotS squad this last wee while, might be injured because he was doing ok there earlier.

Dykes is a pretty loyal guy by the looks of it, he stuck by QotS when they were in trouble last season, I think he'd be fine with us doing the same kind of deal for Livi, being sold on condition he sees out the season back on loan to us.

Still would love to see Dolly coming back to us too, don't think he was getting any games at his loan club, isn't a patch on Dykes but he's a weapon of a player to cause havoc in the opposition defence, would be interesting to see him and Dykes up front together.

Falkirk struggling with injuries and BSLM having to play as their striker, wonder if he'll last for more than one game every 3 months. Looks like Raffa aint going to play for us again, seems like we're seeing out his contract with loan deals. Shame cause I reckon he'd still do a job for us, even if it was as a sub.

Agreed. He could be used as a replacement for Lawless or Souda(if he gets to start) to get back his match fitness & then as an alternative to them in the starting xi

My only gripes with the management is their reluctance to use Souda & Tiffoney, their reluctance to put 2 up front and their choice of players that get sent out on loan. Both DeVita & Hamilton would have given us more options when Dykes was out. Robbo didn’t do a bad job but we played as if he was Dykes rather than to his strengths.

These are minor gripes in the grand scheme of things but IMO DeVita’s experience & match management nous would have helped secure the wins when we have been 2 goals ahead.

Sarkic will probably be recalled by Villa due to Tom Heaton’s injury. Frustrating as he will be recalled to be on the bench.

    Club has now confirmed this.
