So at the very least a right back, right wing and couple of centre backs.

Looks about right, Cole can play CB but I like him better in the O'Brien role in midfield. Would like to Give White first dibs alongside Buchanan though, think the big man could partner up with him well. Mullen might start on the opposite wing from Hippo, scored a couple of goals coming in from runs on the wing and getting past players, might be an option having him there. Needs to wise up a bit though and learn to stay on his feet, get his barge in first so he isn't being knocked off balance.

I knew he'd got a much better job as a coach for Hearts but that still concerned me for a moment.

I've no doubt we'll have a tonne of players on trial at the moment so I'd expect any more signings to drip through gradually as we start to approach the friendlies.

Last season you could tell who was on trial/ who was signing from the players Twitter accounts. They would all start following the same people. Either they have been told to wise up or we have no one else on trial. #shitepatterlads #geesaclue

Seen some Alloa fuds talking about that on P&B last week, really hope it is true. Would wind those aunts right up and would also be a good signing.

Burchill was one of the pundits on Alba during the play offs and I did notice him praising Gordon up on it, so obv rates the guy and would prob be interested if available.

More concerned at the prospect of signing a defender from a team we thumped 4-0 twice & who finished below us!

Kyle Jacobs signs for Queens. If him and Rutherford are their first team signings I can't imagine they'll be as good as last season.

They've lost good players and aren't replacing them for like so yeah, doubt they'll be as good.

I think we could actually be a lot better than last season if we get Gordon or someone as good as him in defence, the other signings we've made certainly look decent. Keaghan and Gallagher are the only big losses but not that big we can't still be better than last season if we get decent replacements. Gordon for example would be pretty good in defence. From what I saw last season Pittman could make a big impact for us and would soften the departure of Keags.

We could be dark horses with nobody paying much attention to us because we were 8th last season, our attack certainly has plenty of fire power, and with flair players like Hippo and Pittman in midfield supplying them it should see lots of goals. Just need to get our defence more solid.

This team undoubtedly has goals in it, I have no doubt about that. How well we do will be completely down to how strong the defence ends up.

Also noticed Bradley Donaldson has been following our new signings on Twitter... imagine he's still training with us then. Possible right back for next season?

Wonder if he's in to replace Kyle in the first team or if we'll be bringing anyone else in and Gibbons will be a backup. Seems quite decent though, quite happy with that.

Must admit I approve of Burchill's almost analytical approach to building a team; so different from the throw-the-cards-into-the-air-and-see-how-they-come-down approach of Burke and McGlynn.

If only he'd had a free hand from the opening of the transfer window rather than being forced to sit and wait until all the embargo cr@p was sorted out.

Yeah wonder who he's missed out on because of that. Looks decent signings so far though, solid players from the Championship in Gordon (if he signs) and Buchanan, along with promising youngsters like Longridge and Gibbons. Sheerin too could be a great acquisition with his focus firmly on proving himself after letting himself be distracted earlier in his career.

Was it Burchill that brought in Hippo or was that McGlynn? Burchill has certainly got the best out of him. Hopefully he can do the same with Glen this season, he hasn't really got the best from him yet, so hoping he can do what he did with Hippo and play Glen where he is best and give him a run of games to establish himself in the starting 11.

As he was in the final months of his contract, he'd have been able to talk to other clubs about signing a PCA? Although, that whole saga is a discussion that has been well done.

Gordon would be an excellent acquisition and the signing of Gibbons is a good one. Promising young player and he'll be no mug after captaining Aberdeen's U20s to the Youth title last season. Squad is shaping up quite well and if we get a few more signings in defence and another central midfielder in who's a starter, I'll be happy. Quite looking forward to Saturday now.

Sky sports news are reporting that Gibbons has signed for St Mirren!!
