Just had a look at St Mirren official site & no mention of him there; the Buddies have signed Stuart Carsewell apparently, so presumably whoever has been editing the SSN new updates has made an error.

Mind you, citing the BBC website is no guarantee of accuracy!

Neither is anything Sky news tell you, their sports knowledge of Scottish football leaves a lot to be desired and are terrible at reporting on actual facts.

They made several errors on Sevco and Livingston last season when reporting on our points deduction etc, and Rangers liquidation and Sevco having to start from the 3rd division.

Now if Gordon would just put pen to paper and we sign another couple of defenders we'd be about sorted. The Sociedad game should entice the trialists anyway.

That's actually a really good point. It wouldn't surprise me if we see some decent players trialling for us in that game.

Millen has been slated by a lot of Dunfermline fans. Will obvs give him a chance considering we had Fordyce there last season.

I think Dumbarton got one or two of their players too. Gordon and Buchanan are their best two from last season, delighted with that.

Dunno about the other signing but Burchill obv rates him so hopefully he's another good signing.

Quite exciting seeing the players we've signed, don't want to get carried away till I've seen them playing in the pre season games but this could be a decent season for us.

My Pars supporting colleague says he has a very decent dead ball delivery & direct free kick; but apart from that didn't rate him much.

Judging by Burchy's comments Ben Gordon sounds like a candidate for the captaincy

Pars fans are notoriously fickle about their players. They love them one week and hate them the next. My favourite ever Livi player was not rated by Dunfermline when we got him for free. I am talking about David Bingham.
I will make my own mind up once I have seen our new players.

Agreed Orco (except the bit about Bingham; I don't think I saw him at his peak but given what he had done prior to my coming along I was disappointed) I was only providing some info.

He also said he gets a nose bleed if he crosses the half way line while Burchy suggests he will be a threat going forward, so who knows?

Heard the same rubbish about Beany from Morton fans, Robertson was slated to feck too but thought he was ok for us. White was also slagged by Falkirk fans as rubbish and wouldn't score many in the Championship, and Cole wasn't rated by Sevco fans. Yeah think i'll wait and judge for myself too Orco, Burchill has been pretty decent at spotting a player since he took over the managers job, he hasn't rushed any of his signings either. He seems pretty methodical in his approach and knows exactly what kind of squad he wants .

Don't take notice of what any of the ramjets on Pie and Bovril say. Whenever we sign anybody we're bombared with "LOL he was shite for us!!!" often enough they turn out decent players, Russell and Shags are 2 examples, as pointed out by Liviforever.

I remember playing DAFC just after they went into admin and Millen looked a really dangerous player for them. Carried a lot of passion too. Burchill seems like a motivational kinda manager, so I'm hoping he can lift him. I have a good feeling about this signing. Don't forget; Dunfermline were utter pash throughout last season, maybe playing in a better team will help him out.

Could do with another CB and midfielder so those 2 signed up would prob finish the squad off. Longridge at LB sounds good enough to play there, and we're pretty much sorted for CM with Pittman, Gibbons and Glen, plus Cole being able to play there.

I see on P&B we're meant to be signing a right winger, is that the trialist that scored our first goal against Stenny?

Signing people is good new but I am very concious that for each new player we sign at a presumed absolute minimum of £1000 per month (or £500 per home game) we need to get an additional 30 people through the turnstiles paying the full price.

Already our average home gate is borderline even with the assumed bumper crowds from the big sides.
